Hi peeps! Just catching up on y'all. My ex-wife-in-law lives 1/4 mile from the Lakeland airport. She got her dogs and herself in the safe downstairs bathroom just in time yesterday. She told me that she had left the sliding glass door open (with screen shut) in her upstairs bedroom and when she went to check on things after the house stopped shaking she saw that her blankets from her bed along with her dog's beds had been sucked out of the room through the then open screen door

I'm glad to hear we all made it through the storm safely! Brainiac that I am was battling the storm inside a few CVS stores with expiring Crest q's and rainchecks - oh what I won't do for free Crest 3D toothpaste...

Oy. The hail last night put a crack in my cars windshield and a few small dents on the hood.

I stewed about this so I decided to call corporate who had the DM call me...
he and the store manager reviewed the tape of that transaction and were completely shocked it truly took that long!
He apologized profusely.
today store manager called and offer a $25.00GC for our troubles!

LOL will cost me $50.00 in gas to go back and pick it upLOL

Argh. I did a special order for my Air Wicks a few days ago because I knew they'd be here by the time my Qs expire...and of course they call me today and they haven't been ordered yet.

Quick funny story. I got in line today behind a lady who said it would be awhile as she had a ton of coupons. My kind of gal lol. She got about $100 worth of kleenex and freshmatics and some other stuff for $1.34. The lady behind me also had a mountain of kleenex along with some diapers. I started to talk to her and she said she only had the publix diaper huggies coupons because all her others expired yesterday and it was hurting her. I had about a dozen in my coupon pack even though my boys are 10 and 13 lol. I carried them for no real reason. I gave the entire stack of those $3 and $3.50 coupons to her and she was really happy and the cashier was looking at us like we were all insane lol. A 6'3 40 year old man carrying a stack of diaper coupons. Anyway, thought I would share.

Put in the other publix thread but if you live near lake mary, fl I found those kimberley-clark coupon books at the 46a road that is in front of the amstar(near reinhardt. There were a ton although the way the other publix stores were wiped out you may wanna hurry.

So I got a bunch of the Poise yesterday for the KC rebate and now I am wondering what to do with them. Does anyone know where to donate them? I know with my move coming up I am going to be doing some serious purging of random items. I am hoping to rehome my cat food to a shelter if my neighbor doesn't want it. I have a hard enough time storing all the stuff I NEED and now I have boxes of stuff everywhere that I don't need - lol , now just isn't the time to be super stockpiling non-essentials for me but I can't pass up free stuff, I just can't -

Sundown is another one - what the heck am I going to do with those???

When I lived up North my exh had a friend that worked with a homeless shelter and they would pretty much take anything so that is where I used to purge my stuff but I haven't made any contacts since I moved to jax.

Lakeland always gets hit really hard with bad weather. It's a really off microclimate
A few years ago I worked in Lakeland and I was at work on a weekend getting caught up on some stuff with my team. We were all getting ready to leave and when I was driving down the highway infront of my work I saw a tornado coming across the fields down the road. I was going North to South and it was going East to West ... There were no turn off's on the road and I was really really scared that at any moment the Tornado could turn course and get me. I remember driving my little beat up old car close to 100 MPH just to try to get out of the way.It ended ripping the roofs off a couple houses and causing damage to my workplace also. Tornado's are really really scary.

We brave bad weather for shopping all the time. Last night we were at Walfart at 11:30pm trying to use up the last of our Gain Q's. It was a big big mess!

Hail can be massively destructive. I love having a moonroof on my car but am always nervous in case of a hail storm. It can easily break out glass roofs as well as windshields.

It must have been a different DM then the one I talked to.
We were at Walmart last night and had a similar situation to what yours was the other day. WE were able to use our coupons but it was a mess and we were insulted and stuck in line for over 1 hour. Corporate is going to get a call over this.

I've got a suggestion about this but it may or not fly at your store. I've had store's pre-sell me items when they made a mistake on ordering and my Q's were expiring. Basically what they did was ring all the items in and redeem my coupons to process the transaction. They then brought out the order sheet and stapled a copy of the receipt to the order sheet so that I could claim my items when they came in. The store won because the Q's were redeemed in the proper time frame, I won because I got what I wanted even if it wasn't there for me to physically touch for 2 weeks and it solved the problem. I've done this a few times and one store actually returned the items and resold them once they were actually delivered at the store to not affect their stock (not sure how it would have) but for a manager who is game for the unique I think this is very workable. HTH

Yesterday was a crazy day for me. We were at the auctions super early yesterday and the amount of people who were there had quadrupled compared to before storage wars. We didn't buy anything (but I honestly didn't want to anyways) and it was a big competition between guys trying to prove who had the biggest (Insert adjective here). We watched an idiot Newbie bid against a guy who drives all the way here from Oregon just to buy units. He will pay whatever it takes to get something he wants. Stupid Noob bid something worth 400.00 up to 1200. Some people never learn.

We went from the auctions to knock out some major shopping, Target, Kohl's, Walmart and dinner at a Casino (really really ) By the time we got home it was after 2am and I'm just exhausted today. Gotta head to the Dr in a few minutes and I've been so tired that I haven't even got out of bed for breakfast. Guess I better walk my butt downstairs and eat something since I'm famished. The other half took the dog for a walk so I'm too hungry at this point to wait for him to get home and demand he cooks me something

Anyone know of any great, quality deals on pictures? I took the kids to Picture People last year & wasn't that satisfied although you couldn't beat the price.

This morning I took the kiddos to a local photographer for spring pictures with live bunnies.. they turned out AMAZING but I can't justify spending $800 on a 6 pose package. My mom really wanted these so I did it for her (DS had pictures with live ducks 2 years ago at the same place). Spent $105 and I'll only get 1 - 8X10, 1 - 5X7 & 4 wallets. I got a free 5X7 for donating food but still -- the price is outlandish!!

I did JC Penny when DS was born & they turned out alright so I might go back there. If anyone has any other suggestions I am all ears.

I use Portrait Innovations- very similar to Picture People I think - I just did spring pictures and I got 21 sheets (7 poses, 3 sheets each) plus a package with one pose for $9.95 that has a ton in every size, plus the CD, plus 6 cards - total was $135 and that was steep for me- I go there for Christmas and Spring pics every year and they print them out immediately like PP -

We got a letter in the mail today saying we were one of the winner's of the Pepsi Publix deal (a while back) and we won a $50.00 GC!
I never win anything so this is awesome
