Looks like a nice laptop with usb 3.0

The ATI 5730 1gb graphics is equal to the Nvidia GeForce GT 525M 1gb

Also don't forget this is the x1 version , it has 1 hard drive bay and no blue ray. N71JQ-A1 version has 2 hard drive bays and a blue ray drive. but for this price its a nice deal

Also forgot to mention Battery life is about 1.5 hrs in gaming load and about 2.5 in quiet office mode / energy saving. Just surfing an listening to music it`s about 2 hrs.

The keyboard is amazingly nice aswell. very comfortable and i would say has the same feel as a MacBook Pro's

Not a bad deal but resolution (not 1080p) and no blu-ray on board kill it for me. I know Blu-ray is not that big of a deal to most but it would be nice to see more manufacturers start to throw it in for these higher end systems.

Great deal for last generation quad core cpu & graphics which are still blazingly fast.

The biggest difference is 15" vs. 17" screen, whether you want more portability or larger screen real estate. Pretty much everything else balances out.

you have the better processor.. sandy bridge vs g1
it has a slightly better hd 7200 rpm vs 5400
it's heavier... almost 2 lbs is no joke.. and bulkier.. 17 inch laptops kinda suck for this
it has better res.. but it needs 17 inches to get it and still not 1080p

i'm certain you would get better battery life too in the lenovo

only cool thing is it has one usb3 port and you don't

I don't see how this is a good deal at all when you compare to the ~$927 HP.

-Practically obsolete CPU.
-Piss poor resolution considering the size and weight you'll be lugging around.
-Labeled as "gaming" with a a sub par GPU...
-No Blu and less ram.....

I'd rather spend the extra ~$200 or so and grab the HP. All the points I've mentioned far out weight a measly $200 savings....

Asus beats HP with no mercy in terms of reliability and quality in SquareTrade report.
