Is there any way I can get the coupon code to work for the vertex 2? "your order does not currently meet the code's usage criteria." I'm sure this has been over before.

Do not buy this drive if you intend to put it in a laptop, OCZ has all kinds of problems that result in data loss. They have no idea on how to correct it.

scary. http://www.ocztechnolo is there a way to tell if the Vertex 2 120GB is the 25nm or 34nm drives? OCZ was supposed to update the model numbers to end in either 25 or 34 but it's neither I wish Corsair would have some discounts on their new Force drives... Pretty amazing how effectively OCZ has converted this exact drive from being the best in class to becoming the one to avoid...not a good deal at any price.

I bought one for my HP 8540W laptop and am in the middle of RMAing my second drive. The first one failed in 3 weeks. The second one failed in 3 days. They either time warp, become unrecognizable or the partition table just disappears. OCZ has no idea what is going on and it only offering replacement drives which are pretty much guaranteed to fail again.
Now I am stuck with a useless drive unless I want to put it in my desktop which already has an 80 GB intel G2. I think I will be ebaying the replacement Vertex drive and buying one of the newer Intel drives. They may be slower but the 2 that I have never have given me a single issue. |
