TEXAS: Discounts off passenger car Texas State Inspection

Here are the normal prices that nearly everyone charges for the annual state inspection:

In Dallas, the normal fee for passenger cars is $39.75. Sometimes you can find places that give $5 off, but I've actually found a few places here in Dallas that offer $10 off this price consistently:

I'll search for what I paid in San Antonio but I know it was not $40 like in Dallas. Found it, $15 did not do it in Austin since it was double $30 and I go often to San Antonio. How are you able to get your car inspected in a different city? I thought they only will test it in the same county your car is registered in?

No, you can get a car tested in any city/county. I go to school in Waco (McLennan county) and get my car inspected down there since it's only $14 (no emissions).

Just tell the inspector you go to school in that city/county.
