You could try a google cache version. Put in craigslist.com then the name of the town or area for your craigslist and possibly a unique word or two that were in the ad. Then see if google can bring back the cached version.

craigslist uses

<meta name="robots" content="NOARCHIVE,NOFOLLOW">

which google honors.. thus no google cache for their listings.

Which browser? For instance, in IE 7&8 if you click favorites then click history you can drill down to the day and search your history that way.

only if the entire page is cached, normally just the URL is saved between browser/OS restarts

Search your computer for any .html files from the time period. That's probably about it. Sorry about the google cache info...I had done a quick look to see if it was possible and I saw some that were cached, but it was the index pages and not the individual listings themselves. If you're really into it you can try an undelete program like Recuva and search for deleted .html files and see what it comes up with. It'll show the modified date and you can tell the time period that way.

moral of the story.. nothing lasts forever online.. print what you need to save or refer to later... use something like cutepdf if you want to save on paper and ink/toner

if it's your own ad, CL saves the ad for you even after you delete it for a short while. just log in.
