BEWARE 4myrebate.com "security review" scam
Have about 10+ rebates with 4myrebates.com where the rebate status got stuck at "documentation received". I called and was told those rebates are under "security review".According to the reps, they need to contact the product manufacturer, and also the merchant to verify the invoice. However, I believe that is just plain lie. Let's pick OCZ Technology as an example. 4myrebate said that they have been in touch with OCZ, and that they are in the process of verifying my claims. When I called OCZ, they seemed to not know anything at all, and told me to call 4myrebate. My suspicion is that some rebates got lost or stuck when they transition from the old website to the new, and now they are putting a bogus claim that those items are under security review. All my other rebates that were submitted prior and after the website switched don't have any problems. Note that the merchant (Newegg, meritline, zipzoomfly, and others) don't have to respond to requests from 4myrebate or OCZ or any other manufacturer. So what happens when the merchant didn't respond? My guess is the rebate will be stuck. The rebate for stated 8-12 weeks, and in my case, 2010 is half year ago. I urge everyone to submit FTC and BBB claims against both the rebate company and the manufacturer for each and every rebate that is overdue. This ought to teach them a lesson. It would be awesome to see a company with a A+ rating all of a sudden falls to F due to slickdeal effect. Remember the scam by intuit two or so years back? they paid up the hefty $160 rebate within a month Another issue. 4myrebate claimed that one of the checks was cashed back in 2009. However, when I called in 2010, they said the check was never cashed. So, a call in 2010 stated it was never cashed, but when I call again in 2011, somehow it was already cashed in 2009. To end, yes, 4myrebate is one of the better rebate processors, but when a claim gets stuck, it just stays there! So if you have no problems with your claim, then good for you. They cheat. When I submitted my rebate about 3 weeks they wanted 99 cents commission for quick processing. Now they are asking for invoice from tigerdirect which was already submitted. They want all the documents sent again with invoice. Looks like not a reliable site. In future I will not any product with MIR which is processed by www.4myrebate.c

To be clear, 4myrebate is not a 'more reliable processor'. They are filthy crooks that lie saying the don't have your documentation. They've done it to me and many others, google it. I even sent my materials certified mail and the filthy scammers just keep lying. And don't go accusing the victim bb182. Avoid this company unless you want to be ripped off.
4myrebate rips people off. |
