I was wondering if there are major differences between getting 1x4GB or 2x2GB. Also, my motherboard supports memory speeds of 1066 and 1333, but my ram is 1600. How will that affect performance of my ram?

marginal performance hit with single channel vs dual channel..
i don't think memory speed will matter much... rated at ddr3-1600 9-9-9-27 @ 1.65v, basically it's "factory overclocked".... if it clocks down should be able to run it with lower latency (8-8-8-24 or 7-7-7-20) which pretty much makes up for the lower speed, and at a lower voltage of 1.5v which is ddr3 spec.
