I know, I'm using an Asus netbook right now with 1024X600 and sometimes I wish it was a bit more for certain apps. I also noticed that this one has a webcam with only .3 megapixels. This is still a decent deal though since these things pretty indestructible. I've had mine for over 2 years and it's been through hell, but still going strong except for the hard drive (which is expected since it had been dropped so many times) and the battery which was only about $30 or so shipped from ebay. The ebay battery was a 9 or 10 cell (sticks out the back a little), but actually lasts 5 or 6 real hours (I would only get about 2 with the factory 6 cell). I also had an original 4G eeepc and that thing was pretty indestructible until something spilled all over it. Asus seems to make much better laptops/netbooks than the others such as Toshiba and HP.
I was of the same idea that i needed a netbook cause i type a lot. netbook was slow and clumsy so i ended up buying an ipad ( couldnt wait for the trasnformer ) and on landscape i have gotten so used to typing on it, that i type just as fast. I think it is a personal preference, atom based netbooks are not fast at all...if you need something small and portable i'd look into the ultra portable HP laptops. they are about 400-420 dollars for something you can actually use. If you want something a little flashier, the tablet will handle most things just fine. I know the price is good, but honestly i bought my netbook at a good price too and i still got frustrated with it ( frustrating mouse pad, resizing screen to be able to see a webpage, etc etc )
