I screwed up on a Kingston SSD rebate - what now?

I missed the 30 day postmark date by a 2 days on a $45 Kingston SSD rebate.

Don't have the exact dates with me right now...but here's how it went...


Purchased on: 4/20/2011


It was backordered....received on: 5/4/2011


Rebate mailed on: 5/22/2011


I did not want to tear off the barcode before testing it out for a couple of weeks...and then forgot about it until 5/22 when I mailed the rebate.


What now? Will it get rejected? Can I appeal?

Hm... I have heard of some rebate companies being lenient and allowing a day or two after the postmarked date. I have never experienced it but I have heard some will allow it.

Since it was backordered i believe you have a good argument for them to allow it. You will probably have to ask for a manager. As a last resort politley ask them for their corporate name and agent of service. This helped me in a recent battle with frys/symantec rebate. The manager refused to honor the rebate and claimed it was only for NIS 2011 not the combo pack, while the photo on the rebate form showed the combo pack. As soon as I asked him for the corporate name and agent of service for his company (the rebate processor) he checked with his manager and made a "one time exception". Worth a try.

I forgot to get my kingston rebate off the newegg site, and they have since changed the dates on the rebate as another offer is going on. Does anyone think if i send the current rebate which is pretty much the same thing they will allow me to receive the rebate? The whole point was to get the SSD for $64 not $109=/
