Tasks
i decided to create a thread discussing various tasks as seen in reward sites such as sb, zb, cbd, irazoo, superpoints, and any others in the future. (please no asking for referrals)
I imagine we will focus on "fisher" tasks but various tasks are all welcomed.
The thread is primarily a task discussion thread to announce tasks found at a place or how- to's regarding the task, that said... some ot will be fine and mention in the title.
ill start off the Wiki with real info so this post stays small...

Edit--
American Royal Arts Classic Rock

I just used www.linkedin.com/in/americanroyalarts and it worked, for now.........
OK, changing it to this then.

From now on, if something gets someone an error, post the name of the task. They all have different names now.

Updated Choose the best search results sheet.

The task giving me problems is Choose the Best Search Result
I added a few Leon Gabinski terms & changed a Sal Tiano which I got wrong.

Those tasks have become a real PIA. Some I can do at 100% (lots of 'reputation searches'), and with others, my search answers are marked wrong. Frown

Okay, so I took some screen caps last time I did a Fisher task so I could try and explain how to do them to those who haven't tried yet, or who have but get DQ'd because they don't understand what they're being asked.

First time you do one of these, make sure to take your time and read the instructions as best you can. The instructions are pretty straight forward for each section of the task.

The Fisher Tasks (Search for terms and record the results) are all 5 pages long and there are 2 on each page (so you're completing it 10 times really).

Each part of the task is split in to 3 sections.

The first section has you open your search engine window and Search for the term 'Fisher Investments ' with a space at the end. The search engine will give auto results that you then type in the first set of boxes in the task window....Like in this image.

Google will only give you 5 results (depending on your settings) so you have to put NA for the last 5. In the Search for terms third job, you will only use Google. In some of the other tasks, it will alternate between Google and Bing (and rarely Yahoo). You just do exactly the same thing....but Bing will give you 8 results so type all them out and if you need to, type NA for any remaining boxes.

Sometimes if your search engine remembers the history of what you've searched and so it will change the results the on the next page....but you will want to use the results you got the first time on EVERY page. This is when it's hand to make a little cheat sheet of the answers you just got in a notepad document or something like this (ignore the 2nd part of the cheat sheet for now)

Then each time you do the first section of each part of the task, you can refer to your little cheat sheet. If there's a few days or week between the release of Fisher tasks, then always make sure to update your cheat sheet as they change the responses around in the first section to keep you on your toes!

The second part of task will want you to now hit Enter on your keyboard and actually search for the word 'Fisher Investment' or 'Ken Fisher' depending on the task.

When you get your results, it wants you to open the first result and then copy the url from the address bar on to the task page.

The first result is usually always www.fi.com so you would type that in to the first box on the task page. The instructions then want you to find the next results with www.fi.com in them and for you to tell them what page and where on the page you found them. I usually find them on the 2nd page of my google search but it varies each time. Here's a screen shot showing what it wants you to put.

It wants you to open the window of that link, copy the url from the address bar and then paste it on the task page. You then need to tell it what google search page you found that result on and how many results down. So on this occasion for me, it was on the 2nd page and was the 7th result down. The next result that included www.fi.com was on the 2nd page and was the 8th result down. I then added these to my cheat sheet as these will be the same on each page of the task you have to do. I put them under my cheat results for part one of the task.

So each time you do part 2 of each section, you just need to quickly copy and paste from your cheat sheet. Again, every time the Fisher tasks are released (usually once a week) you will need to tweak your cheat sheet as they will change up the results.

The third part of each section wants you to search a new term. It will start with 'Fisher Investments .................'. In my example, you'll see it wanted me to search 'Fisher Investments Latest'.

On your google results page after you've searched the term, open the first result (NOT including any sponsored result as it doesn't want those) and copy the url from the address bar. Paste the url on to the task sheet in the first box of the third part of the task. It also wants this URL again in the last box of that part of the task as shown in my screen shot here.

You then open the 2nd link in your google search and copy the address from the address bar and paste it in the second box on the task page.

That's it!

Like I said, you do that twice per page and there are 5 pages. It sounds like a lot but once you've done these a few times and know how to keep your cheat sheets updated each time, it will take you about 9 minutes for each task.

The other Search for terms tasks have minor differences in the 2nd part so just read the instructions. They're pretty straight forward little changes.

Hope this helps! You can clear cookies and do the tasks at all of your rewards sites. In case you don't know where has what:

Excite Points - Gambit wall 1 (Tasks) & Gambit wall 2 (Tasks)
CBF - Gambit wall 1 (Tasks) & Gambit wall 2 (Tasks)
Zehx - Gambit wall 1 (Tasks) & Gambit wall 2 (Tasks)
Zoombucks - Tasks, Gambit & Matomy
Swagbucks - Tasks
SuperPoints - Matomy
iRazoo - Gambit (they do have a Task wall too but I rarely see fisher tasks there).

Some of the Fisher tasks you can even do more than once per wall after clearing cookies. The Third Job can usually only be done once. Search for Terms 'more work' I can usually do twice and just the plain 'Search for Terms' can sometimes be done 3 times per wall! That is a LOT of tasks. I've listed the reward sites based on who pays the best so I always do the tasks there first and work my way down the list. (batan or majax can correct me if I'm wrong)

NB - These screen shots are examples only. The results change each time the task is released, so merely use these as examples and NOT your answers for any given task as the results will more likely have changed since I took the screen shots!

One thing to keep in mind about the Fisher tasks: The search order or even the Google drop down menu changes on occasion. I usually double check when I start a new set of Fisher tasks.

P.S. Awesome Job British! You put so much work into it, you jammy thing you! Wink laugh out loud

Yeah, I ALWAYS re-check/re-do my search order each time the task is released. On occasion, depending on if I've got the search engine history on, the searches change throughout the task but at times when I've gone with the changes before I used cheat sheets, I'd get DQ'd for putting those answers. Whenever I stick to what comes up the first time (for the day the task is released) I stick with throughout the task. Big Grin

I'll edit my post so that people know not to save and use my cheat sheet as it changes all the time. Smilie

A BIG thank you to you both for all the hard work you put into this thread!

Brit, without your help, a lot of people would never be able to figure out those Fisher tasks!

Taskaholic, I'd just about given up on the, 'Best Search Results' tasks. With your help, I used to be a wiz at them, but then all the answers started being wrong. I would try to search the new answers myself, and I would still be marked wrong, so I gave up on them for a while. Last night I gave it one last shot with your new and improved 'cheat sheet', and I scored 100% on every search task!

So again, a BIG thank you, and please everyone take the time to rep these guys for all their hard work! hughearthug

Yeah, I found that out too with the search suggestions order changing. It seems to change every time I do it so I make sure to check it every time.

It's still tedious to keep typing in the same thing over and over again on those tasks, but I've managed to keep at 100% and get credit every time. Thanks everyone for the task help.

Has anyone tried the task "How relevant/satisfactory are these search engine results?" for 160 SB? I've done these several times, but since the errors are cumulative I'm now at 80%. I don't know if I want to risk the time then get DQ on page 9/10. Any helpful hints to passing these tasks are always welcome!!!!!
