Your link is to the string trimmer....OP is featuring the HEDGE trimmer(looks to be the same price at the 'zon). The additional free battery at HD is worth $30-40, so the free battery deal makes HD the winner, I believe...especially if you have a coupon(and you KNOW you have a coupon! )
By the bye, I believe HD has the free battery with the 'broom', hedge trimmer and string trimmer. Never hurts to have more batteries.
Thank you. This seems to be a very good deal based upon the consumer report reviews as well as other owner reviews. It seems to have a lot of power (though it will require frequent recharges, but I guess this should be expected as it can cut a 3/4 " branch).
In for one, as I hate dealing with power cords, and gasoline trimmers are too hard to start and just too heavy with aging joints.
I have this one and it's a good deal with the extra battery but mine has had to been taken apart 2x and repaired by me. There are a couple small screws holding the inner workings together and they broke off. It lasted a few years but I would suggest checking out the 24v if you've got any real hedging to do. It seems like a much more substantial machine. It seems to have better teeth, although you won't get the extra battery... If I hadn't just bought the refurb string trimmer with 2 18v batteries just for the batteries I probably wouldn't bother repairing it!
