You get root access so you can do whatever you want on the thing, run a website, host some files, make a game server. anything. I have personally setup a Minecraft server using CentOS with the McMyAdmin Control panel and it worked great for me. I was also able to use the WGET command to download files at 10MB a second... fast

Or if you want you could just teach yourself some linux command line fun.

It does require a credit card to sign up, but when the trial ends it over, it doesn't automatically debt you or anything.
