![]() Wait, how long is that offer good for? I think I have a million $ just lying around. I'll have to look under the mattress.

1) the cashier refused to let me use them because she thought they were trial size...yes they were in a small box but that doesn't make them a trial size...plus it was 18ct. I haven't seen anything trial that goes that high. 2) She refused to ring me up because I was getting them for free. She made the manager do it for her. |

Who's offering 3% interest? I'd take that. The last CD's I bought were at 1.5% and my savings pays .02%. My MM account? Nothing! Goose egg! Zip, nope, nadda!3% sounds awesome.

I do have several accounts at my credit union, so it's not like it's buried in a coffee can out in the backyard, but it just scares me to tie up those kind of funds. ![]() My checking account is at 0.15%, my savings is at 0.40% and my money market is at 0.41%. To get 1% or more on a CD, money would have to be tied up for a minimum of 30 months. The difference in interest to me, just isn't worth it. |

As a kid my Mother was always transferring CDs from one bank to another for better interest rates and you still got a toaster or blender or something. I don't even bother with CDs anymore.I still do okay in the stock market, even being the hairy roller coaster it can be sometimes. In the last week, I've sold all but two stocks, I kinda like the May Go Away strategy. DH's 401K has about the sorriest choices anyone could possibly pick for fund choices, so I keep that account primarily in bond/muni funds, otherwise I don't do anything with munis either. |

Interesting offer, and rather slippery wording. The implication is that they will "give" you a car. But no, you will "receive" a car, paid for with the CD's interest, which they pre-pay you up front. So you get a car and they get to use your million for basically free for 5 years. Oh and let us not forget the nice 1099-INT they'll send you at the end of the first year so you can pay about 20K taxes on it. Oh well, I guess if you have a spare million kicking around, who cares about 20K, am I right???? ![]() |

kinda funny...I'm going on vacation next month and thought about asking Pwcpal what week would be good before booking my flight. Lol...I ended up booking my flight from Wednesday to Wednesday so hopefully I won't miss out on a good week at Wags. Lol.
