The registers have been screwing up and jumping all over the place. Last week I had worked out a transaction to the last dime and hubby went to pay with a $10 RR (He should have paid $10 plus tax) The cashier said that he couldnt take it because the total was $7 and that is in fact what the screen showed. So DH went to pay the $7
with his credit card and was charged $10 and change. He didnt notice the receipt until he got home. tax was only 50 cents I believed what he told me but was skeptical until a few days ago. The water was on sale for $2.49 last week but the register scanned it at $2.79.The manager was going to adjust the water but then did a partial refund later I bought several sale items and everything else was scanning and showing correct price. However I also noticed that the register wasn't showing the military discount so I told the cashier and he added it. We saw him add the discount. The register never showed it though. We paid even though our totals were $8 off I went thru the entire receipt and saw the military discount wasnt added so we went back in, transaction was voided . We noticed the receipt showed $2.49 for the water even though it scanned and the register showed $2.79. Now we are starting to do the transaction over, this time the water scans at 2.49. We watch everything scan and some things scan incorrectly and others scans correct price, things were adjusted accordingly. So then they ad the military discount and the register shows the discount. Our totals are off again from what we had calculated, but we pay because we saw everything scan correctly or adjusted to reflect correct amount.(or so we thought!!!) I get the receipt and see we were overcharged for 3 items. Dh takes the receipt and 3 items in to just return them. The mgr scans the receipt and the 3 items and hands dh the cash. Dh comes to the car and shows me receipt and guess what?? He received LESS than what he was owed. The register scanned the CORRECT sales price when it scanned all 3 items and refunded the scanned price, not what was overcharged on the receipt. So hubby went back in showed the mgr and explained that the deodorant was on sale for X amount, we were charged Y amount and she refunded X amount . During initial purchase the register showed correct scan price of X but when we got the receipt it showed we were charged Y amount. The manager fixed voided the refund and did it over again and refunded correct amount. It makes no sense, the register either shows correct amount and receipt shows a different amount or the register shows incorrect amount(as in the water) but then shows correct amount on the receipt. In those several transactions we saw the registers jump all over the place like a slot machine, prices were jumping all over the register, everything changing and then the final payment screen shows up and even though we calculated everything correctly, the amount we have to pay was way off, thanks to the register screw up. The crazy register screw ups happened at 2 different stores. Yesterday,I was so overly concerned about prices scanning with this weeks sale that I just skimmed thru my RR and didnt realize I was missing one until I saw Tipper's post on the weekly thread. Watch out on those Nutri-grain! Thanks to her post I just checked my RR and saw I am in fact missing the RR for that. I had done several large purchases and received correct RR for all of those( pop tarts did give the RR after using Q) . The tranny with nutrigrain did not produce a RR. Thank you Tipper for the heads up on nutri-grain My twins are my best BOGO!! |

We were crashing registers left and right for months now, and that was much worse than this. When it crashes we had to wait for a manager or for the system to reboot. I feel bad for the cashiers. I can deal with the stress but the poor cashiers are having issues with those coupons not scanning or scanning for wrong amount, and they have to deal with the people yelling at them for the registers overcharging (even though the stores have things programmed for the sale) We dont cause a fuss because we know that its not the managers or cashiers fault. The managers are now just putting the RR in as mfr coupon because all they do is cause the registers to crash several times a day. They have asked for the registers to be fixed but they are in the middle of pass the blame and responsibility and so far noone is stepping up to repair or replace. Then to add to the stress for mgrs and cashiers, its hotter than sin over here. Corporate in Illinois controlling the A/C doesnt work for store in the south!!. Add the heat and humidity and lack of a/c into the register issues and you get a hot mess!! The stores are like saunas for hours of the day. They have the "for sale" fans all plugged in and running throughout the store. On a funny note when we were checking out the other night there was a guy who reaked of marijuana, So much so we could have got a contact buzz should we stayed any longer . ![]() I shoved the kids near the entrance to get some fresh air . We paid and went outside to review our receipt. Marijuana man paid for his coffee and left. Then we went in to do a void and redo the purchase and a cop was behind us?Dh let the cop go in front of us and when he left dh said " Where was he 2 minutes ago?" That would have been an interesting conversation had the cop got inline behind the green fog of maryjane man Hubby was cracking jokes left and right so it helped make the hot store and register screw ups less stressful Last edited by juliebeans; 05-07-2012 at 08:06 AM.. |

There's at least three stores near me which do not have the registers yet, so I can only assume as more and more registers get installed - the bitch sessions on that FB page will start to ramp up. The corporate controlling the A/C bullchit is unbelievable! You're so right about it being ridiculous for stores which are in the south. I live in Houston where the heat index can get up to 105+ degrees outside due to the humidity (from being so close to the gulf of Mexico/Galveston)... That's hilarious about the weed smoker.. I remember my days at rock concerts getting the "contact high".. -- bet it wasn't so funny for you though, since you had your kids with you.. ![]() Does anyone think it is a coincidence that the added restrictions on coupons and added verbiage came after that damn show started airing? The restrictions and small print on Qs have been basically the same industry-wide for years... now all of a sudden, they're adding more and more restrictions... Coincidence? ...newp, I think NOT. |

found [google.com] my $.02 coupon, so I can give my opinion without any oop ![]() |

![]() Someone explained in the TLC thread that the gang cuts are when someone lines up a bunch of insert pages and cuts the coupons out at the same time - so they have the same cut/shape.. I guess in the past - some shady stores have "gang cutted" coupons and submitted them for reimbursement, even though customers did not buy the product/use the coupon... Someone from the store just cut a bunch of high value Qs out and submitted them.. Sounds a little absurd, but there are a lot of scammers out there, so I actually don't doubt it has happened...especially at privately owned stores.. ![]() But I am going to agree with Nuff~ I think it is more of an effort to slow down "extreme couponers" and clipper services..

I think Jill Cataldo wrote an article (a yr or so ago) about what the industry considered gang cut and reasons why the clearinghouses woul start refusing them. She went to an industry meeting and learned a lot of info that is now starting to show up on our coupons and in store policies. Gang cutting was originally a problem caused by stores redeeming coupons for items not sold ,but thanks to EC, gang cutting (using those cutting board/guillotine devices-cant think of the name) many on the show showed themselves using those devices to cut the hundreds of coupons they used for their pillaging episodes I think kirlewJailme also used one on her episode and I remember people asking about where to get them. Slide a bunch of inserts into the thingie and then slice and turn then slice and "voila" 50-100 or so coupons cut at one time |
