I think this would be a great outlet to post our concerns, rants, etc.....on our WAGS experiences due to low stock, new ECers, & S&Gers.

For what it's worth I do believe that low stock is more of an issue than S&Gers, but they and new ECers are definitely playing a huge role in the issues that we are all encountering. Frown

wave Does anyone know if Midnite is considered "medicine?" Medicines aren't taxed in some states (but things like vitamins/fish oil/etc are), and I'm working on my BF scenarios down to the penny. TIA!

I would think it would ring up the same way the Natrol Melatonin did from awhile ago, as it's mostly Melatonin with some herbs.

I was in wa state when the vote for governor was recounted three times... the first time the R won by one vote, then lost by 47, then won by a few...guess it was counted four times cause a d ended up in office...yep... federal prisionors, dead people, whole bunch of "voters" turned up for that one
Hmmm, I wonder if that will happen again? They are presuming one to be the winner but the other is not conceding. I saw tonight they've counted 70% and are now something like 51-49 (a much much closer margin than they were the other day). It was all by mail this year, so the ballots are not all in yet.

Me, too, but I WISH it mattered.
Does anyone have to show ID? .
Tennessee requires a photo ID this year for the first time. The ID requirement has been opposed by Seniors groups esp, but it seems to be simple common sense to me.

What is common sense to us is not always common sense to seniors.

My elderly relatives do not consider email, texted, facebook postings or phone calls adequate invitations to an event.

An USPS mailed card is the only acceptable form, see?

Personally, I think anything other than a personal phone call or snail mail invite or especially a thank you 'note' is tacky. Nowadays, I guess you've got to be glad you get any 'thank you' at all! Not common sense, but etiquette. And while I'm at it, I'll mention my disdain for computer printed name/address labels for formal invitations. AND what ever happened to addressing people (on letters/cards) as Mr & Mrs? Now its John and Mary.
ugh Sorry to take this out on your post, Rose!Wink

Common sense to me, too, but I'm thinking maybe some of US Seniors don't have driver's licenses, which is usually the most common form of photo ID. My MIL kept her drivers license renewed only for ID purposes. They weren't photo ones then, either.
I think we should absolutely have to show ID to vote. Real ID, too.

I like printed invitations too & personal phone calls but every generation has slightly different behavioral norms. Heaven help us, the teenagers in my family thought tweeting & facebooking the death notice of an elderly relative was acceptable...shake head

You made me chucke with that. Thats cute. I guess to their friends, its their natural way of communicating. Many of us have posted the death of a relative on FB, many 'friends' aren't that close that we'd call to notify and they would attend services. I think you know what I'm saying.
Thanks for the giggle.

I'm not sure what the opposition is from the senior groups.
I thought most states could issue a state ID for non drivers?
Plus for medical services, seems like they always want ID, so I would guess most seniors should have an ID for this.
One doc office I had to deal with wanted to do a hand scan for medical service, you know, to prevent insurance fraud. Um, no! It was optional this year, but wouldn't surprise me if it was required one day.
And yet, ever request your medical records? I know someone who did that recently, and only had to give the name - no DOB, ID, signature required. I think the office said it was required, but the person showed up and was not questioned at all.

.
The opposition was related to the cost of the state ID. Some groups feel it amounts to having to pay to vote.
I don't recall the exact cost of the ID but it is cheaper than a drivers license.

I don't know about paying to vote but I think you should have to take a test to vote. It should includes photos of the individuals running for office in your state/county and if you can't identify the individuals, you don't get to vote. If you can't name the three branches of government, you don't get to vote. If you can't answer correctly the number of judges on the Supreme Court and their names, you shouldn't be allowed to vote.

And if you CAN recite every lyric of the latest Lady Gaga song or know the names of every Kartrashian or the names of the Jersey Whores .... you should have your voting privileges revoked ... FOR LIFE!!!!!
