I think this would be a great outlet to post our concerns, rants, etc.....on our WAGS experiences due to low stock, new ECers, & S&Gers.

For what it's worth I do believe that low stock is more of an issue than S&Gers, but they and new ECers are definitely playing a huge role in the issues that we are all encountering. Frown

I think whether someone is a volunteer is irrelevant, stealing is stealing. The items were donated to the charity NOT the volunteer. It's also certainly easier to donate to a charity with the idea in mind that they have screened the recipients of the donations first. I'm just beginning to feel like most charities screen people about as well as the government does.

I have given stuff directly to individuals, but it takes a little bit of hearsay from one person to another. A good source for donating directly to someone is thru a cop. Some cops don't mind going that extra mile to help a family they think legitimately needs help and the family isn't in the awkward position of accepting something from a stranger. You just have to be willing to trust the cop recognizes needy vs. lazy and I think most do.

Any SDers that WAG in the central FL area (obviously I know there are some, but any regular posters)? I'll be down there next week and am just wondering if I'll have a lot of competition. laugh out loud
I'll be there also...in the area of Mount Dora. I was there last year and was very impressed with the stock and the staff of every store I went to. What area of Central Florida will you be in?

I'm very excited to report that my WAGS is not a 24 hour store, but is opening up at 1 a.m on Black Friday (mainly for couponers who made orders!!)....woot I got them to stay open late on Saturday last year, but to get them to open early is astounding!!

When I was couponing I always donated to the womens shelters and military families after taking care of my family and friends and others I knew of that could use the help. I agree with all who say it is deceitful of the charities that the employees/volunteers are skimming the donations when there are so many with genuine need. In my community we see the people using ebt cards for carts full of groceries and leaving in their $70,000 vehicles. It's not right any way you look at it. I don't know what criteria you have to meet for the benefits/charities but most of it must be wonky or flat out lying going on at best. My hubby is a Navy veteran and lost his leg; we couldn't get the veterans administration to even help us with any time, money or materials to build a wheelchair ramp into our home so that dh could be released from rehab in his wheelchair. We had to apply for food stamp benefits for the first time ever only to get turned down. They wouldn't help us with anything. Anyone who has Navy pension as income will wonder as I do how they can justify turning us away. The people you see with their fancy cars just aren't being honest to get those benefits. I would not stoop so low as to lie or beg for anything we prefer living one day at a time. Sorry such a long rant, this subject touched a sore spot with me.

Oh my Gawd!! Please help us if he runs for Presidency some day! The Bill to reform ebt fraud passed twice and he vetoed it the first time and after it passed the 2nd time he actually said he would look the other way and would not prosecute any violators. So the Blatant FRAUD continues in MA. I think I'll need a prescription for valium if he ever becomes President.
I just read that he's being considered for the Attorney General spot if Eric Holder leaves. OMG

ETA: source http://www.federalnewsradio.com/2...n-2nd-term
ETAA: phew just read another article that said he has said he's not interested in the AG position

When someone is unable to go to the store he/she has the option filling out a form that allows an individual to go to the store for them, and this may be why you see people who use a EBT card when the do not look EBT worthy to you ( I know there is probably a lot of fraud too ) I shop for my son who was born disable and started to receive SSI and EBT as an adult.

I'm pretty sure I got this from Wags awhile ago, but forgive me if it was CVS instead.

It's terrible! Am I doing it wrong or have others been less than impressed with it? It doesn't lather or foam, yet still manages to give my skin that icky, "squeaky" soap residue feeling....but I feel I'd have less chance of cutting myself if I was using soap. Yuck. So glad I only ended up with one after giving the rest away.

Are you planning for the week of BF? My experiences if you don't go by Sunday before mid-day you'll miss out in the hot deals. It has been very dificult to find the gazillion-one Wags booklets. Only found two of the Wish List thing-y Mag and because they where misplaced.
The newspaper 'Orlando Sentinel' cost 2 bucks, is gone if you wait to late. Some times I can find it at Walmart. The free newspaper is gone (by Saturday) I stop trying to get early to Wags to find it, when I saw the cashier had a huge stack behind the counter on the floor.

nod I'll be there for BF, which has me a little nervous since I've never couponed or even stepped foot in a FL WAGS. Luckily y'all have a ton of stores, so I'm hoping to go on an all day excursion. laugh out loud

Thanks for the info (will rep you in another thread)..looks like ill have to be on my A game. I should have enough time when I arrive to do some recon before Weds night. Big Grin Luckily, I got my wags booklets from my store up here since I wasn't sure if they'd be available down there. If you're going to be in the Winter Park area, shoot me a PM. hug

I feel your pain! We're going to be in Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving and the husband is laughing at me when I try to explain how it's nerve-wracking not knowing what the stores will be like there.

Depending on where you are, FL has some really nice Wags. Some even have coffee stations and price scanners. Smilie

Assuming you are in a state that allows them to be open --- 24 hour stores won't close for Thanksgiving. However, the pharmacy MIGHT be closed or with limited hours.
