Thread Details

I think this would be a great outlet to post our concerns, rants, etc.....on our WAGS experiences due to low stock, new ECers, & S&Gers.

For what it's worth I do believe that low stock is more of an issue than S&Gers, but they and new ECers are definitely playing a huge role in the issues that we are all encountering. Frown

yea, sorry it happen to you. same thing happen to me. i sold a $300 amazon gift card. once i got payment i sent the code. the guy filed chargeback saying his card was stolen and didn't authorize it. couldn't do anything. lost out $300 and ebay fees. got me so scared of ebay didn't sell anything for a year.

but most likely you can't do anything. ebay and paypal are always on the buyer side now. but keep trying maybe you'll get somewhere
I did a search on ebay after posting here and found out that most of time ebay will be on the buyer side, and there are so many chargebacks going on now in ebay/paypal, even some newbie jump in and ask what is chargeback and how/when they can do it. Ebay will not do anything to those buyers. Here are the 2 ebay scammers: tmcc1255, roxgrey20. In my cases they claim money back for "unauthorized payment".Mad

I have been selling on ebay for a couple years (off and on), just started again last year. Last month, I sold a couple of itunes gift cards that I got from Walgreens, two buyers told me to email him the codes and now he filed chargeback to get money back. Has any of you ebay seller experience this problem? and how do you resolve it? dispute back? or lose your money?
I had 6 dispute transactions right now and it is very frustrating, called paypal last night and they kept transfer me from one operator to another saying that "I will transfer you to a chargeback specialist".... and it sounds like I will lose all of my money plus they charge me extra $20 for each chargeback transaction. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Paypal still doing that $20 chargeback fee? It has been awhile but my understanding of the $20 fee is that your buyer filed a chargeback directly with his/her credit card company -- the claim was NOT filed directly through Paypal.

& that the transaction did not qualify under the Paypal's limited seller protection plan --- limited countries, shipped to confirmed address only with "tracking" (USPS delivery confirmation, UPS, Fedex), you have verified status etc. -- signature required for transactions over $xxx amount.

IMHO, you SOL. only small consolation is that if your buyer files too many chargebacks bypassing Paypal, Paypal will close your buyers account.

I guess it would depend on how much legwork and "proof" you want to do. Contact the other sellers and see if any others have had problems. There seemed to be indication on the one buyer's feedback, that he has done other chargebacks.

I would also question why someone is willing to pay more than what the gift card is worth, that to me would be a huge red flag.

Without proving that the buyer is scamming others as well, I juts don't think you'll have a leg to stand on.

Both users seem to ONLY buy iTunes cards..multiple times a day and for more $ than the card's worth. Very odd to me.

ETA: also, I may be looking into things too much since a lot of folks leave similar feedback, but..a lot of the feedback those users have left are identical (phrases, punctuation, etc). Again, i may just be reading it things too much.

you have his/her name/address. that should be enough to completely destroy them. Big Grin

me either. i sold on ebay for over 2 years at gold ps level after college and i fought and won every chargeback and they certainly never charged me a fee when one was filed against me.
I was also a gold ps but I didn't have your luck (skill) with chargebacks. I got burned heavily on overseas shipments and finally just said forget it.

Well, a foreign buyer will buy a US iTunes card to get access to the US iTunes store -- cheaper than the local iTunes store & better selection.

But that kind of buying pattern could indicate perhaps a single ID fronting for multiple buyers -- like a business reselling -- or just stolen credit card numbers Wink

I looked at the bidding history of one of tmcc1255's wins. The card sold for $51 ($1 more than it's worth). I see absolutely no indication that anything weird was going on. The buyer jumped in at the end and bought the card. The buyer had placed no bids prior to the winning bid. There were 32 other bids on the card. The next highest bidder was willing to pay $50 for it.

A $50 Apple GC can probably be had for $43 but sometimes it goes for above face value. That's just the way auctions work.

Thought I'd mention this as I'm not sure if it was mentioned when the Walgreens Vit & Supplement Books first came out as I quite Wag for quite a few months when the card system started.

Anyways - while going through the books last night found $2.00 off any I-cool for Menopause product mfq coupons in some of the books and other books had a $2.00 off any I-cool for Menopause Wag cpn. Would make for $4.00 off this product if a good sale or RR offer ever came out.

I guess it depends on how many ups you have and how much shopping you do in a day. For hardcore resellers, the 6 am thing may be an issue, but I'm a reseller and haven't had issues with it. Rolling back and forth at WG just gives me a headache, personally. I' ve been turning most of my points to RRs and selling them for 80% value. I'm thinking that i'm distancing myself from WG because I'm not fond of doing dozens of transactions. But the not earning of points when using points has a lot to do with it as I think this is very disingenuous, for lack of a better word, on WGs part.
If you want very low oop, you go to CVS. If you want lots of volume, you go to wags. I still haven't figured out why anybody goes to RA...laugh out loud

Dumb question I can't remember. With wags, you need to spend the full amount to get any sort of promo, yes? At cvs you can spend, like, 29.97 and still get an ECB for a deal that said "spend $30..."

But is Walgreens like that? I don't think it is but want to confirm.
