Thread Details

I think this would be a great outlet to post our concerns, rants, etc.....on our WAGS experiences due to low stock, new ECers, & S&Gers.

For what it's worth I do believe that low stock is more of an issue than S&Gers, but they and new ECers are definitely playing a huge role in the issues that we are all encountering. Frown

It's been pretty lite in the Wag threads for the last couple of months. So I think it's nice that we have some new participants who are actually enthuiastic and participating. Perhaps I'm in the minority here. Everyone was new once, and everyone will figure this place out eventually. It's true that SD has never been much of a place for the faint of heart, but the snarking just for the sake of snarking is really uncalled for and is going to scare off people. And that would be a shame.

He also informed me that he couldn't put them back in as "all we can do is give 1000 points" - now, I know that is not true because at my regular store the Jedi manager (who has left Frown ) put 2500 on my card one time - 500 at a time...
BTW...next time you have them adding points have them use the qty button. I'm not sure exactly how this worked but one of my supervisor one night had to give me a lot of points and she played around and figured it out. Sorry to be so vague but she did it several times until she figured out how to do it.

Why is it that I get attitude when the cashier didnt scan all my items then insists I can't use all my qs? I scrolled through the keypad and noticed it right away. He was seriously bothered by my wanting to add the two items he missed. I smilled and said i love free stuff but that he doesn't need to get in trouble it. He rolled his eyes and voided the tranny w/ a sigh. It wasn't that hard to scan 1 tranny of 15 items and apply 4mqs and a RR. Guess who is getting a crummy survey score.

WB - I think the problem boils down to the fact that a lot of old time posters, and people who used to contribute more to this site than they do now (myself included), are irked by the fact that they themselves didn't have the "gimme, gimme" attitude when they joined. They read the thread and attempted to figure it out on their own. Sure everyone has posted a bone headed question now and then, but for the most part they didn't need a spoon/shovel/forklift to understand a deal.

I've said this before, but let's face it - SD isn't the right place for everyone. If someone needs to be fed something and likes the back and forth drama of the same question repeated over and over, well there are other sites out there that might be geared more towards their personality.

For goodness sakes, there was a poster last night who was trying to work out a dd deal on Wags.com and complained that she couldn't get her insert coupons to work online. And they had been a member here for 2 years! OMG

Off my soapbox now...

I don't understand why they even let cashier be able do that on their register...they need to make it so ONLY the customer can do it on the keypad screen.
Iagree

by somehow knowing your zip? laugh out loud
My zip is also their zip and yes, they know that. I have only had it happen twice but it has happened to me. Sometimes (with some cashiers), it's almost like they think they know you too well.

Yeah, it would be nice if we could get people to remember how to post a deal again - like remembering to explain where a Q came from. Also, with the DDs, there is a difference between a DD that works just due to balance points turning on early and sale prices that have to be active for the next week's deal. My stores don't turn on sale prices early, so I have to be super careful about that. Now some didn't seem to matter, but not all deals.
Yeppers.

And the coupon thing is really difficult because some of the ones that are required to do a deal (like the Nature Made Optimal Solutions), was a printable that I got last week but had no idea it was also an insert because we didn't get that one here.

The IP is NLA but would anyone mention that in their posted deal? Nope. So I had emails from a couple of people asking where they could print the IP. I didn't mind answering the emails but I didn't get back to them right away and they would not have had to wait if someone had just posted that little tidbit in the thread.

I'm all for keeping things on the down-low but that isn't what's going on in this week's thread, it's just shoddy deal sharing, IMO.

I get the vast majority of my coupons through trades or from the bay, so I don't always know their source. I will make a more concentrated effort to include source info when I post deals/ideas.

Of course, then I'll get reamed for being a spoon feeding blabber mouth. laugh out loud

That is understandable. If you don't know the source, just state that - I'm sure someone will recognize it and chime in.
I really appreciate your input.

That does help....since everyone gets different coupons in the paper. I end up buying mine as
it is cheaper. We get junk coupons in the paper most of the time.
And some coupons come inside the product...like the iron supplement this week. And some are tearpads or come from the BA's stash. Lots to keep track of.

Yeah, exactly. I could buy 20 papers every week for $30, and most of them are crap, and then I have huge piles of paper to deal with, too! Plus, we don't get RP in our newspapers anymore so many weeks I'm buying for 1 insert.

Here's another one (Georgia hillbilly, lol). No one's ever treated me rudely here though b/c I lurk, glean whatever info may be of value here and go on about my business. I would happily contribute, but I've got no patience for the drama, pissiness and smart arse comments to be perfectly honest.

I appreciate the effort of those who post, but I'm not going to lick others boots based on how much time they've spent glued to the keyboard either. Whatever deal sharing is going on on the DL, so be it. I'm none the wiser, so I can hardly feel like I'm missing out can I? I have more crap in my stash than I know what to do with anyway, so it's probably for the best I don't know about all of them. Just ignore the BS, get what you need and get out.Smilie

Having trouble getting link to show up from my iPad, but someone in the HD thread mentioned buying the FAR items online for in store pickup and using a promo code.

This seems like a pretty good idea for the things we don't have coupons for. Thoughts?

If it works or is a good idea rep op here (I think, could be link fail)
