They previously sold it for $120 with a nailer/sprayer/etc.

Looks very similar to this one:

http://www.walmart.com/ip/3.5-Pea...s/10583516

If so, then:

120-volt electric air compressor ideal for hobby, home, farm and professional needs
15 accessories, including air gun, couplers, air line adaptors, tire inflation ball adaptor and 25' coiled hose
3.5 HP peak, 2.5 HP continuous
Features two outlets, regulator, HD frame and easy-to-use controls
Output air pressure is 5.2 CFM at 40 PSI, 4.2 CFM at 90 PSI with 115 PSI maximum
Requires 120 VAC power
Comes with a 1 year warranty with a direct connection to our service network
Rear wheels and pull handle for ease of mobility
Unit weight: 57.2 LBS

I guess it's not bad for basic stuff... like a nailer. 115 psi max is kind of a downer.

Depends on what he wants it for. For a single nail/staple gun it should be fine. Might not be a big enough tank/output level for 2 or more guns. Air ratchet or air hammer might only run 10-15 seconds before you'd have to wait for it to bring the tank back up to pressure. Not going to run sandblasters or any other higher end tool.

Its oiled vs oil-less, which is a plus in my opinion. It'll be quieter and last longer, but you will have to change the oil at least once a year with low use and perhaps every 2-3 months if its used every day.

Wheels and handle are nice for moving it around. Hoisting a 60-70lb compressor isnt a lot of fun.

If the walmart equivalent specs are indeed true, then its a very nice basic homeowner compressor at a very nice price. But there are a million of these things so that they look alike may not have much to do with it.

The CFM on this are pretty week. You will not be able to run a very powerful impact wrench. This is best used for small tools like a previous poster mentioned.
