How do I get my craigslist post to show up on the page I posted it under?

So I posted up an iPhone on Chicago craigslist and I followed all the steps where I got the page that said it was posted (with the green border that allows you to edit or delete your posting). When I clicked on Chicago, and then cell phones, this post was showing up. Then I realized I made a mistake in the title and attempted to change it, and for some reason it wouldn't change the title on the main page (but would on the post once you click on it). So I tried to repost it with the new title and it told me the new post was being blocked since it was similar to my previous post. So then I look back on the main page, and my post was gone from the search (even though it still says it's posted on the email link) -- the post isn't anywhere on that days postings.

So then I tried to repost through an another email account, and it says that one posted (same screen with the green borders), but it also doesn't show up on the main page for Chicago cell phones or under the subsection either. This was 2 days ago and I didn't receive a single call, text, or email about the phone (and I'm selling it for fairly cheap relative to what others are), so I'm fairly certain no one can see my posting (and around here, at the very least, you would typically get a few calls or emails trying to low ball you on stuff like this, even if you are asking for too much).

So today, I deleted one of the posts from one account, and then edited the post in the other account and then try to repost the original post, and it says it successfully posted, but still no post is showing up on the main page for Chicago cell phones or under the subsection either.

WTF is going on here? Is there a way I can fix this and post my iPhone on there where other people are able to view it from the main page for Chicago cell phones or under the subsection for the specific area I'm selling it from?

wait 15 minutes for the page to be updated if you keep reposting it, the computer will make it look like its posted and blackhole it or you will get flagged and they will be yanked

Well, I posted it at 3:00PM, and it's now 3:32PM, and it's still not showing up on the main page or subsection for under Chicago cell phones. I think my posts are getting blackholed. Neither of the two from 2 days ago were showing up on the 6/8 craigslist posts today. Anyway around this blackholing? What if I just delete the new post now and then try to repost later this week (will it show up then)? Or do I have to change the substance of the post (including the title) as well when I try to repost later this week? Or do I need a new account, and need to change the substance of the post (including the title) to repost later this week? etc..

cl is vauge about when they do it… there are keywords that trigger it, things like putting a phone number in will trigger it… i dont remember the specifics

I actually put my number in weird where I spelled out the first and last number (because I heard that makes it less likely some spam bot will catch it?), so I'm not sure if that caused it or not.

I hate craigslist. Seriously, why do they make it so hard to post something on there? All I want is 1 post on their website and I've been messing around with this for 3 days to try and get that up there. If I knew they were going to be such a pain in the @ss about it, I would have just left typo'd/slightly inaccurate title up on there the other day and just told people it was a typo when they called or texted. I would also much rather they just block my post and tell me that they are blocking it for "X" reason, rather than saying it posted up my post and then blackholing it. This is so dumb.

I just wish ALL Nigerian scammers would have this much trouble posting ads on Craigslist! Sure would be better for everybody!


I think you should take up a different trade that needs less education. Watch "Trading Places" and pay close attention to Eddie Murphy. I'm sure you'd be able to put together a small wheeling platform, and find a can to hold out somewhere

• Ads posted via self-posting kits must be completed via a link sent to you by email. Unless this process is completed the ad will not appear on the site.
• Index pages and search results are generally updated every 15 minutes. Ads requiring review take longer to appear.

So what are the posting guidelines? When I clicked through the about section, there's a link to the terms of use, but nothing for posting guidelines..

EDIT- I'm guessing the way I had my phone number listed was okay, though, because it did post my ad the first time around (i.e. I was able to see it on the main page of the chicago cell phone section). It was only when I tried to edit and then repost (to correct the title), that it just blackholed my ad

just post and wait till it pops up on the page. it takes like 15 minutes or so. not that hard.

Well, it's been a day and a half and it still isn't on the page, and I've refreshed the page plenty of times... Pretty sure the post was blackholed, which sucks.

They started doing that thing where you have to check your email and activate the link for the post to become active and appear on craigslist. Did you do that?

Something similar happened to me before when I just simply couldn't see my on ad posted on craigslist, but when I did a quick keyword search and narrowed down to an area in particular ( for example in Atlanta - its divided into Atl, N Atl, S Atl, E Atl, etc) I can see my post.

I also had an experience where Craigslist simply did not remove my post when I deleted the post already. I ended up getting bombarded with emails from people trying to buy things even after almost a month since I deleted the posting
