Deal DetailsLast Edited by J3ff June 11, 2011 at 07:48 PM
direct line: (877)775-4886 a sprint person will answer.
If you upgraded your phone 12+ months ago and are still under contract, you automatically have a 75$ credit.
HOWEVER, people are reporting if you call that number and request to pre-order the phone and ask for the 199 price, that 9/10 times they say yes!
You must be through one year of the two year contract. (or apparently close to one year. I'm 19 days away from my 1 year mark and it worked for me. ymmv)
I am 15 days away from my One Year and got it on 4th try.
******All SPRINT members are eligible for their second $75 upgrade credit at 22 months. They have done this since 2006.
They reset your line to be eligible for the 199 discount, you do not pre order on the phone.
How to call for this request.
RING RING RING,
(Sprint Info Here)
I had a few questions, is it possible to get the evo 3d for 199 even though im only 1 year through my contact? Yes? Great!
For multiple lines, I just asked "Is it possible to get this done on all my lines?" She said let me check eligibility and then it was done.
FYI: For EVO 4G owners, Sprint will give you $150 for a trade-in, making it $50 for the EVO 3D with full upgrade. I confirmed this at my local Sprint store today. (but dont do this you can sell it on craigslist for at least $200)
Additional $70.00 Customer Loyalty Credit:
If you have 4 or 5 months left on your two year contract you can call or do a chat session and ask about renewing your contract early to receive the customer loyalty credit. It can vary between $50-$70.00. It will NOT affect your device upgrade. Whether you used the method above to receive your full $150.00 device upgrade or not, you can still receive the $70.00 Customer loyalty credit. Remember, you have to be close to the end of your contract.
Dont wait to do this after you purchased the new Evo3d because that will also reset your contract and you will not be able to get this. When you do this you will be resetting your contract to exactly two years from the date of the call. Later, when you buy the Evo3d, your contract date will be reset again to exactly two years from the date of purchase of the phone. Ask to confirm that this will not affect your device upgrade (for your own piece of mind). Good luck!
Just thought worth adding. According to the SU forums a Sprint employee said you can email this address to try and get your upgrade eligibility reinstated if you lost it due to sprint premier changes. Here is a quote from him "Hi, Art here. We have established a new inbox to receive these inquiries. Please email UpgradeRestore@sprint.com with your mobile number, the name on the account, and the date which your upgrade was or would have been available and we'll see if we can restore it. Thanks so much, -art"
Success / Fail Stories
Success/Fail - Old Plan - Months left on contract - Old Phone
Fail - $30 Sero Plan - 11 Months left - non Evo Phone (tried 5 times)
Success- $30 SERO 500 Basic plan- 12.5 months left only 11 months into contract. (tried twice). Also upgraded to SERO premium and changed from HTC TP2 to Motorola XPRT for a total of $40/month I was really confused about the $10 fee for smartphones vs the $10+$10 for 4g, and some where even saying its not 4g and for all smartphones. Those guys are uninformed and should not speak. Plain and simple, on SERO premium any 3g phone XPRT or Arrive will be $40 a month.
Success - 2 lines, due for full upgrade in September & October. Rep put it through on the first try.
Chat 1 failed, Chat 2 failed, Call 1 succeded and he said "I can just go ahead and reset all your lines that are at least a year out" - Family ERP plan ($109/mo) KEEP TRYING!
Partial Success - My reset is August 1, and they offered me to buy-out the rest of my contract for $25. I figured it was worth the hassle, since my phone is currently broken.
Partial Success - Reset is 11/2011. Everything data family plan. 1st call fail. 2nd call, said I could buy out for $45/line, I declined and he said he would do 1 for free so I took the one. 3rd call, she said it will cost $180 ($45 X 4 lines) instead of $60). I'm on my 4th call now. Representatives keep deferring to "their boss" for approval. On 5th call, Supervisor gets on the lines to haggle me like we're at a used car lot. Offers to charge me $45/line, then give me $65/line loyalty credit plus $50/ month off for the next 2 months. If they didn't charge me the $45/line to reset I would have taken it. I turned this down politely, but am afraid he will still post notes of this as my deal. Feeling frustrated, I called regarding another 4 lines I manage, that will upgrade in 9 months and got the dates reset on the first call. That's ridiculous. I'm going to call again...
Success 06/29/11 - $30 SERO 500 basic plan - 12 months and 16 days left on contract - Received reset on my first call with CSR Debiola who had supervisor Justin override it. Now have full $150 upgrade credit to use as I please.
Success - SERO 1250 - None - Moto Q - Took about 5 calls. Finally able to reach supervisor and he credited me the $75 customer loyalty and immediately applied it to my account. Truly YMMV. Before that, reps told me things like: need to be a 10+ year customer, computer randomly selects deals for people, I dont qualify for anything, I qualify for $5 off my bill but will also have to give up my upgrade credit, etc. etc. Ended up with the 75 customer loyalty credit + $150 upgrade credit + $200 instant savings = $125 + tax for Evo 3d. Put me on the Sero Premium 500 plan @ $50/mo with unlimited everything and 500 anytime minutes.
Success - I got two lines renewed that were over a year into their contact. I have two other lines with 14-15 months left in their contract that were not renewed. It seems like you have to be at least be 1 year in to be considered.
Success - 7/17/11- $40 SEROP plan. Called the number and was very pleasantly surprised that they gave me the $70 loyalty credit on my first try with 4 months left. I then asked about upgrading my plan and getting the evo 3d and he said it'd be a $45 charge and he thought I'd have to go to the $69.99 + $10 (4g charge) plan. But if I wait until next month than it'd be only $25 plus the $69.99....but I'm happy with the credit.
Success - 7/19/11 - regular plan ($69.99+$10) - 1 year - Called the number 1st time, they were going to give me $75 credit, $70 loyalty credit and trade my current EVO 4g in for the ending price of $255.99. I said I would call them back, hung up. 5 Minutes later - same rep calls me back to let me know that they will give me the phone for $199.99; I said yes and did not push on for the $70 loyalty credit. I am happy for $199.99 since I can still sell my Evo 4g and my company will reimburse me . Thank you!
