1080P screen for $100 more (not worth it for me)

Well, the good thing about this deal is you can expand on most options.
You can get a 17.3" FHD 1080p screen for $100 more.
For me, that wasn't worth it. Because most times, it is going to be in the den connected to a 24" Samsung LED monitor (1080p).
Thus, I chose the $999 deal (well, I actually spent $20 more to get the Creative X-Fi).

If you read it close, it's not 1TB HD, it's 2x500GB. For a laptop, that's serious power usage. Gotta love that the only option for SSD is 256GB, when this is the perfect setup for a small SSD boot drive and a second internal drive for storage.

Also don't forget Bluetooth under the wireless options and backlit keyboard on the personalize page - 2 essential add-ons

Ok, at first glance, this link appeared to be a better deal by 35-40 bucks, but it doesn't qualify for the $100 buck off coupon...apparently. So its better to just get the free bluray player...by getting the $100 off...unless you really will just never use it.

Dell Preferred Account use gets you 3% discount!

Dang, I just saw this email by Dell today. It's been sitting in my Inbox for 2 weeks now. So, I didn't get to use it. But tried to use it with a new order and seems to work.
(Time to call Dell to see if this can be applied retroactively Smilie

Anyway, my email link seems to be valid only for me (didn't work for my buddy). So, I'm not sure how to get that. Will post that later. But 3% is not bad - helps some with the taxes Wink

Update:
Follow these steps, and it works!

At checkout time, select to pay with credit card. I chose "Pay with one credit/debit card online"
You should see "Save 3% with Dell Preferred Account (Discount applied at final checkout)" message in red. Click on the "Click Here to Take Advantage of This Offer" link.
Click "Choose" under "I already have a Dell Preferred Account" if you have one, or sign up for a new one if you don't.
Now, finish the checkout. You should see the 3% discount.
