External HD for WD TV Live Plus
Recently purchased a WD TV Live Plus and, aside from a few drawbacks, I think it will suffice to stream movies. I have a laptop, Ps3, desktop, and TV that I will be streaming too. I'm looking to get an external hard drive to attach to it, so I can eliminate the need for my existing HTPC.
Looking at the Western Digital productions, I see the
- 2 TB My Book Essential
- 2 TB My Book Live (NAS)
I'm leaning towards the My Book Essential as it would connect via USB as opposed to the My Book Live which is network only. Although having the nas device for only 50 bux more is tempting, as long as the WD TV Live Plus is on, I can connect to any USB drive through the network anyway.
Am I missing anything here? Anyone else have a similar setup?
