Darn... canon photo printers gone wild. This printer way better than the 9000, I like this: 10-color pigment ink system.

for those wondering, the main difference between this 9500 and the cheaper 9000 is the 9500 uses the higher quality pigment inks
among other things, this 9500 is widely considered to produce much better black&white prints, though both printers get good reviews. hope this helps someone! |

Pigment inks aren't always better than dye based inks. Sure, for longevity they win but dye based inks last long enough for most people, work with a larger range of paper, have a larger color gamut and are cheaper. That means the 9000 is the better printer for most people. You are correct that the 9500 is known for better B&W prints due to adding a grey ink cartridge.

Not Dead. Adorama is offering a special price on the Kit for this printer.
http://www.adorama.com/ICAP9500M2K.html Online the price is $719, but for whatever reason they are offering it for $549 over the phone. Just call them at 1-800-223-2500 to place the order. I also confirmed with Canon that this qualifies for the rebate. I called the 800 number in the fine print of the rebate and confirmed this with two different reps. |
