Having trouble finding value of 2011 used car, was a fleet vehicle
I'm having trouble finding the value of an almost new car, being sold as a used car. I've tried KBB and Edmunds and you can only value this 2011 model as a new car, to get used value you have to price a 2010. Here's the info:
2011 Suzuki Kizashi SLS 6spd Sedan with 8,775 miles
Dealer Selling Price $21,998
The Carfax shows it just as a fleet vehicle, no actual sale yet. I think that just means a dealer used it? My local dealer acquired it in an auction.
My husband seems to think this should be my next car, so I went and looked at it (when dealer was closed, I hate the car buying process!) and it's a cute little car. I had never heard of them until now. It has a lot of nice features for a lower end car and I think it would be fun to drive.
Now the problem: My DH does not negotiate well and would probably just buy it for the listed price or whatever BS discount the salesman offers him. I like to be prepared and know exactly what my final offer for the car will be. But I don't know how to value it since it's like a new car (full warranty) but with the fleet mileage on it. I'm wanting to come up with a figure and offer it to the dealer and I will walk out if they don't accept it. Yes, I will do that. I just don't know where to get a fair figure on this.
