Woman arresting for filming cops in her front lawn

7,409 1,848 June 22, 2011 at 08:46 AM
No. She wasn't filming an episode of cops. She had a video camera and was using it to film police during a routine traffic stop from what I can gather from the story. Should the police be allowed to arrest her? What law did she violate?

If the officer asked her not to stand behind him then she should have obliged and moved to another location to film the incident. Police officers have enough to worry about without people disregarding their requests.

"I felt like I needed fresh air"

He warned her a few times, she is just real life trolling.

I like when she starts crying!

Iagree

The officer was very nice and made a very reasonable request. She is guilty and deserves to be thrown in jail. If it goes to trial then her own tape will be evidence against her. Unfortunately, all this attention will probably result in the charges getting dropped.

She's an idiot.

The cop warned her multiple times that they didn't feel safe and to go into her house. She disobeyed a direct order from a law enforcement officer during a traffic stop and arrest.

story's author is obviously biased. while i normally side with cops in most matters, i advocate her not following the orders she was given. if the cop didn't feel safe, he had at least two other officers who could have kept an eye on her, one of which seemed to be facing her the entire time.

i fully support transparency in public police work for both the police's and the public's safety. there is no expectation of privacy for anyone in a public space, including police, and the flimsy excuse that he didn't "feel safe" with her standing there is just dumb.

Usually cop cars have cameras to record them doing things.

of course the police didn't feel safe...

How else would they be able to commit criminal acts on its citizens, if someone else is watching them......nod

Would a criminal feel safe if there was a camera pointed his/her way

Is it too much to ask for a citizen to have some respect for the police officer's request? I'm not saying she wasn't within her rights, but cops put their lives on the line for us on a daily basis and get paid crap for it.

Don't you all realize just how much more important it is for this woman to get a highly-rated YouTube video, than it is for the police to protect public safety?

I hope you are joking or being scarcastic..... because it is this thought processes that will eventually turn this country into a real life working police state...

DID YOU BOTHER READING THE ARTICLE:

SHE WAS IN HER OWN PROPERTY and filming from her OWN property

This officer TRESSPESS into another person's property to tell him/her what they can't do from within their own property and then proceed to arrrest such person..

If you can't see how wrong that is, you should KNEEL to your police state.

You know what you call people who enter your property without reason, A CRIMINAL, just so happens this criminal was wearing a nice shiny badge to stomp on her rights
