These things are CHEAP. Not just in price, but in craftsmanship.
The slide button broke off with in a month. The case started to crack after 2 months and the whole thing fell a part after 3 months. Only the interior piece remains. That still works, but it was poorly/cheaply made. |

I snagged a 16gb Patriot Rage series drive for $20 a few weeks ago. Its generally about 3x faster then most flash drives I've used. I get steady 20+MB/sec. Bursts up to 40+ sometimes as well. With cheap WD 500 GB portable HDs going for around $60. They are faster, but larger, but will fit in a pocket! |

No moving parts. Fits in a shirt pocket or hangs on a lanyard. Won't get demagnetized, suffer a head crash, or click of death. Seems like a perfect solution to me, assuming you don't zap it statically or something. |
