check shopdiscover.com there's some awesome cash back.. especially w/ groupon. (15%!)

the 44 bucks back from Discover isn't bad. Considering you don't pay tax, it should work out well for you. Did you see if there are any discounts that automatically stack with the the 60D when you purchase either the 55-250mm lens or the 70-300mm?

I believe those instant rebates are still active... so if you need an additional lens... it might not be a bad deal to give it a go.

So here's a quick question. The 70-200 f/4 is selling for 673.88... then you take 15 bucks off and it becomes 658.88. Then you take off another 5% (32.94) and your final total is 625.98 for a new with full US warranty L lens.

What do yall think... it is worth it (not the quality of the lens), but is it a good price for the lens?

I think I'm going to post it in hot deals and see if people thumb it up... maybe it is... maybe it isn't.

Its not a deal. If you are thinking about purchasing intro level L's (or even some of the fancier ones) its best to look for used ones, especially since there have been pretty big price hikes in feb.

The like new lenses from amazon are selling for around $650. The very good conditions are $590, but I have reservations about getting those lenses, because if the seller doesn't think they come close to like new, they must have some damage, nicks, or something.

keep in mind if you don't use your discover card all the time, you will need an additional $6 in cashback to access that $44 (need $50 to withdrawl cashback, and in $50 increments only)

Why are there frequently good deals on this camera? Is it going to be replaced soon? Afterall, it's was last August when it came out.

No, there is an $100 instant rebate from Canon. I have the 60D and I love it. I'm sure I'd love the 7D or the 70D (when it comes out) too, but it's not being discontinued anytime soon.

get in touch with the seller and ask them. some sellers like myself purposely list the condition lower than it is because some buyers are way too finicky, and i don't need feel like dealing with those whiny nitpicky buyers after the purchase as they're a waste of my time. I only list my items as "like new" if the item has not been used but the box has been opened. If it's been used at all then it is listed as good/very good/acceptable. Once a prospective buyer contacts me I'm happy to give them a condition guarantee and everybody's happy. This weeds out the smarmy buyers who don't contact me beforehand and then like to go over all their purchases with a magnifying glass. Nothing personal to those buyers - it's just business
