Harbor Freight has some good deals running in their magazine ads. You need to bring in the coupon so keep that in mind. I found the ad in the back of Automobile Magazine. I'm sure it's in many other magazines as well.

AGAIN YOU NEED THE COUPONS TO GET THE DEALS.

The cheap HF multimeter is now FREE with any purchase. It's not a great meter but in my testing it does actually read with in it's accuracy specs which are actually perfectly fine for a standard meter. In other words, the meter is cheap and junky feeling but the readout is correct. For free you can always keep a spare.

The other deal for me was a pair of 6" digital calipers for $10.

These are rather cheap feeling (go figure) but tested them against a set of gauge pins. They are actually more accurate than my Mitutoyos (both were within stated specs). They sure don't feel as nice or slide as well. Like many HF tools if your job depends on it, get the real thing. If you will occasionally use it, this deal is hard to beat.

BTW, the coupons are good through 10/7/11.

While the meter has been mentioned before the calipers (the part worth mentioning) have not been previously posted. This is not a repost.

i bought that multimeter before, yes its super cheap, feels cheap, but it works if you just need to test things out here and there. in my opinion, every household should have a multimeter just to check stuff real quick.

Who's the idiot who thinks this isn't a good price? One is FREE, hard to beat that. The other is $10, again where can you beat that?

This is on on the HF thread here. Check the wiki - there's more.

The meter is decent enough for basic measurements but the test leads are crap. For a few bucks you can get much better test leads here:

dealextreme.com

The calipers are worth the money but quality has gone downhill. They slide rough, the label is a cheap piece of aluminum foil and the LCD readout has been downsized. However they are usually spot on when measured against a 1" standard.

The calipers aren't in that thread thus this is not a repost.

Yet, there is a thread that has been around for years and is dedicated to Harbor Freight and Harbor Freight deals.

I found the thread the same way you probably did too. I posted a HF deal and was pointed to the HF thread. I'm just saying, no need to start a new thread because you found a single deal that wasn't listed in the HF forum - unless you are trolling for feedback points. Your post could just have easily been made to the HF dedicated thread.

I did a search for the calipers and found nothing. I mentioned the meter just because, well if you are going to use one coupon, why not the free one as well. Like you I didn't know about the big HF thread but its a bit like the big Target threads. It comes up in a search but when you are just looking at thread titles to find a deal its kind of useless.
