I cant believe this laptop is down to ~400$ after tax and shipping now; when I paid the launch price of around $480 I thought that was a good deal!
I love mine, gets easily 7 hours websurfing and can play 1080p videos like nothing; barely gets warm. Considering picking up another... Best Deals:

These are the best small laptops to buy right now. Vastly better than a netbook but not much more expensive.

yeah,,,,,seriously, ive been eyeballing this even before it came out and kept eye on it after it launched as well, from the launch you could get this for $415ish...you paid retail... it was almost always available for around low $400s |

I bought one of these (albeit with the 320g Hdd) from Best Buy a month or two ago for around the same price. I love it! The battery life is great, heat is not an issue, the HD video looks great, The sims 3 and Fallout 2 play flawlessly, it is light enough that I can take with me, and the screen is great. Some people had complained about the touchpad being finnicky, and while it is not the best I have ever used, it hasn't caused me undo stress. A number of my friends insulted this as merely a netbook, but also having one of those, this is anything but that.
I added an intel SSD drive and bumped up the RAM (6gb) after about a month and a half and the performance is even better. This is truly a great deal for price v performance...aaaand I'm spent.

hows the HDMI and its playback via a tv with HD content?
i got the Asus Eee PC 12.1 from newegg a while back, the HDMI was surprisingly smooth |

Just a small heads up the coupon code is cheaper than buying thru the HP Academy for Educators and Students since the coupon code will not stack.
