Id rather get one of the bluetooth OBD2 readers since you can link them up with your android phone for some pretty cool stuff

If you live near an AutoZone, they will read them for free.

Can the lower priced one reset the engine lights? I don't see anything that says it can.

Not crapping on this one but I bought a cheapy one from harbor freight and it worked for only 2x and stopped. You get what you pay for. ymmv

worthless code readers. you're better off getting something that will read fuel trims. VIDS. and mode 6...

This is a great price. In stores it's about $80.
Obviously you can purchase it off eBay which I did.
However, this $15.99 beats the eBay price.

This is a great thing to have. Having the ability to figure out what the code is immediately instead of waiting all day to figure it out (light while going to work, wonder all day) is great.

I keep it in my car and have used it to fix my own car and check the codes for some friends.

At this price, go for it.

According to the reviews, it looks like this is how much it's usually been selling at. Reviews are saying they get this for $20 including shipping. For the second one, it's selling for a little bit higher on eBay. I'm inclined to believe that the Amazon listing price is yet inflated here.

OP forgot to mentioned that the first one is $15.99 plus $5.99 shipping (sold by Speed Shop). Second one is sold by XiTech for $23.99 (Fulfilled by Amazon).

I bought hp tuners and a standalone obd2 reader due to this rule going back and forth.

I have an actron reader/eraser that I picked up from JCWhitney a few years back (the same one AutoZone used at the time) and paid $120 shipped for it. It also came with a bonus infrared heat thermometer. You DO get what you pay for and my Actron is still running like a champ. It paid itself off the first time I used it and I still constantly have people that find out that I have one coming over to get their codes checked!
