Got this offer in the mail where you can get cable from Time Warner for $14.95 guaranteed price for 1 yr w/o contract when you switch from DSL. I pretend to sign up online and it didn't ask for proof of current or previous DSL user. This offer is probably regional.

Cable is more stable than DSL and often you get faster than advertised speed. This is same price as AT&T Express or Pro DSL. It's a good deal if you don't need their standard 5-6Mb/s at $30

After further experiment with a large file download and looks like it stays around 1.5MB which is 12Mbps. Not great, but still better. Smilie
1.5 is good! On my 6mb dsl plan I cap at 630k. So 1.5mb is more than double

I have Time Warner in LA/OC area. Right now I am paying $29.99 per month. I am wondering if TW would let me downgrade to $14.99 basic plan.

I oredered the $15 plan online and had it installed a few days ago. I did a speed test to see how it is and it was over 10mbps. So I tried to check online and make sure I have the right plan but there's no way of finding out online, which is kind of pathetic. I did a echat online and was told that I'm actually on the $30 plan. My confirmation email even states that I ordered the $15 plan (actually the 3mbps plan). How can they do this and get away with it?

You can either have them adjust it right away, or wait til the end of the month, get the bill and then have them adjust it.

Option 2 will get you the 10mb plan for the price of the 3mb for 1 month Smilie

I signed up for a promo in my area (19.99 for 10mps) and I get around 20-30mps. I think they place people on the wrong plan sometimes. My bill is only $19.99, no tax or fees or anything...I'm not sure if that's normal.

3MB is so slow in today's bandwidth hungry internet...

I mean if you just do email and load web pages your fine...

but downloading or gaming will be unpleasant at this speed.
Coming from someone who used to sell for Brighthouse this is the perfect thing.

There are thousands of customers that hate att and get 0.5mb paying $15/mo and would love to get the actual 3mb att told them they were going to get and get away from shitty DSL.

Verizon? I called them before to see if they would match the 3 Mbps for $15/month. The CSR lady told me the best she could offer me was 3 Mbps for $19.99. I said no.

I will stick to my 0.7 Mbps for $19.99..... FML. lol

I will call again and see if they match it. I am so cheap that I will cancel my internet all together if I don't get the 3 Mbps for $15. So either way I will be saving an extra $5 or $20 depending on the outcome.

i swtiched from 10 mbps to 3mbps and it is a huge hit. if you game (sc2/league) or you stream HD content, you won't be able to do 2 things at the same time. for me, it was a 30 dollar savings a month (i cut a few HD tiers as well) and i'm not sure if it's worth the savings.

I'm an existing TWC subscriber, and the CSR would only lower it to $19.99, so I just canceled it. Then signed up for it again using OP's link; no problem getting the $14.95 deal, even though it's supposedly for new customers only.

I'm really needing a deal for $14.95/mo or $19.95/mo in my area, at 1.5 MBps or preferrably 3 MBps. $29.99/mo would be okay if it was much faster. Please reply privately or here if you have any tips. May have to sign up at $34.95 and threaten to switch to AT&T or Earthlink, if those are offered in my area.

I have the 10Mbps for 29.99 from time warner in Santa Ana Ca.

Apparently no one here uses TWC or something, because all my tests shows 20Mbps dl. I usually call in and cancel once a year when the promotional price is over. The operator just renews my 29.99 every time.

so 29.99 for 20Mbps dl and 1MB upload is not bad (YMMV)
