Best Buy Coupon: additional 10% off Open-box Items

so how can these discount be taken from original price? these are by their nature below original price so if you take it from the original price then there would be no more discount (how many of their coupons work).

I guess it is trying to say the 10 percent additional off is 10 percent of the original price. I know my bestbuy may reject it because open boxes are more then 10 percent off original prices. I know it makes no sense but my bb employees are not members of mensa

darn, I got an 37" 1080p open box insignia for $329 and the original price was $499 so does that mean if I take the tv back and get an additional $50 off the $329? It would be a sweet deal if the deal turns out to be just $275

The way I read the coupon is that it would be an additional 10% off of the marked down price, so in your case, it would be around a $32.90 refund.

An example....
Original price of unopened NIB tv: $499.99
Price after 34% Open-Box discount (-170.00): $329.99
Price after 10% off coupon (-$33.00): $296.99

Final savings comes out to ~40% (and obviously that markdown is taken off the regular price).

it works for apple products. But the manager at my store did not let me use both promotions. They should ideally honor both as both promos are running simultaneously.

I tried getting a open Macbook Pro that has a promotion of $100 BB Gift card with this additional 10%. The multi-dipping (10% open item + additional 10% off open item promo + $100 BB GC) including the taxes would have saved me about 31% off the $1199.00 price... would have been pretty slick!

It is a coupon directly linked off of their website.

It reads to me like "our open box stuff is al ready 10+% off and this coupon is an extra 10% on top of whatever the open box price on the shelf is.

My BB has really really really lamo open box prices for most suff though. There have numerous times over the past year or so where an open box price is still 10-20% more than an online retailers regular price.

But there could be some decent deals if you have a high volume store.

go back and try again with a different person...and wait till the last minute to give em the "open item" coupon. I did not read the TandC for the coupon and it is probably restricted but lots of things fly at BB that they pretend to not do. Haggle if nothing else.

Tried that but the manager needs to over ride the discount and he is the one who shot it down.

Hmmm some of em do wanna act like hard asses about these sorts of things...like it is there money that is involved. You could try to use the open box coupon and then go back later in the week and add in the 100 GC. Tell em you werent aware that the promo was going on or something. If they dont wanna give it then return the computer.

Really, the best bet is to just hope a different manager comes over. It amazes me how some will bend over backwards for a sale and then others try to self destruct anything that is not MSRP.

Swung by the local Best Buy tonight and they were saying that they have an Open Box Blowout going on right now on iPad 2's so I picked up a 32GB WiFi + 3G for $579.99.

As the coupon states, you should end with 20-50% off the MSRP. As explained to me - stores should markdown open items 10% already and this is giving you an additional 10% off. I believe tomorrow is the last day to use this coupon so hopefully this still helps some people out! This also works on Macs! I'm in the market for an upgrade, but the store didn't have any open boxes.

A relative told me that they were able to find an open box Mac at their local Best Buy and with his student ID he was given 20% off AND a $100 Best Buy gift card - apparently, Best Buy is price matching this offer from Apple. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess he got a really good deal and that this is probably an YYMV deal since this is probably around 25-30% off total (if you were to roll that into the computer dissent); PS: don't forget your rewards for 2% addt'l back and if you have a BBY card (mine was closed out yesterday from non-use), it's 18 months, 0% financing OR 4% if you pay it off early (within 30 days).
