Best Juicer?

What will you be juicing?
If it is citrus, then a spoon or citrus juicer might be the trick.
For apples and such, the Jack Lalanne is decent. The con is the juice is too oxidized and doesn't last long in the fridge.

The Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro 67650 for around 75 is highly rated.

I'll be juicing mostly green vegetables(celery, lettuce, kale, carrots) & fruits(apples, pears, grapes).

I'll definitely check out the Hamilton Beach and that website as well. Thanks for your advice.

I have the Omega juicer-the one with the black auger. I love it.
I watched so many YouTubes and emailed John Kohler from Discount Juicers, told him what I wanted to juice & why, asked for a recomendation & he told me what I needed to know.

It's a 'slow' juicer so it apparantly keeps the juice more nutritious. It will juice wheatgrass and will make nut butters too.
Very easy to atke apart & clean. John even shows that on his vids.

I juice kale, cilantro, celery, carrots, beets, lemons (no need to peel-just cut in 4 or 6 pieces), apples sometimes to sweeten the rest.

I make tahini (sesame seed butter) and have made almond & cashew butter too.

It has the juicing 'screen' and also a blank screen (I don't know if other juicers do. The blank one works for nut butters and also to make apple/pear/carrot sauce - kinda like a blender but a whole lot quicker & not noisy.

AWESOME. thanks so much for your post. A lot of good information. Do you know the exact model of the Omega you have? Also, how do the Omega's compare to the Brevilles? Are they both pretty reputable?

If juicers were made crappy I'm sure I would have worn mine out already.
I don't know the model number but it's the only Omega with the black auger. And the single augers are supposed to be better than the double auger juicers.

Go to DiscountJuicers.com He has a page where he compares a few different ones-it's an easy to read chart. I don't know anything about Brevilles but I bet John Kohler does.

You might want to go to Amazon.com & read reviews on different juicers too.

I watched the same movie and went through the same thing. After some searching I settled on the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juice Extractor on Amazon for $63 http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Be...682&sr=8-3

I didn't want to break the bank but I still wanted something capable. So far this is the total package. Anyways, hope this helped a little. Hope you find a winner!

Yeah I think there's been a SURGE in juicer purchases once that movie came out on Netflix .

Well from my experience I ended up going with the Hamilton Beach 67650 and a manual stainless steel wheatgrass juicer for my greens.

The Hamilton Beach was ok but I had 2 problems with it:
(1) It shot a lot of pulp out the vent hole on the top. Be prepared to find a way to cover that up or you'll be cleaning off a lot of pulp from your cabinets and walls.
(2) I noticed that if you're doing A LOT of juicing, the juicer will start shooting out pulp with the juice. I think the strainer is ok for light juicing but when it clogs up, it starts spitting out a lot of pulp in the juice.

I ended up returning the Hamilton Beach and going with a more high end Omega 8004 juicer. While it's a bit slower, it really extracts greens a lot better and does fairly well with fruits.
Plus it does nutbutter, pasta, sorbet, etc. Plus you can't go wrong with a 15yr warranty. It is a little slower than the centrifugal juicers, but cleanup is quicker so overall time is about the same.

I recommend the Sledge-o-matic

I ended up getting the Breville because of a bunch of GCs that we had somewhere. Personally I love the size of the point where you put in food. It can take an entire apple not cut up. Second I really like the way in which it bags the left over and how easy it is to remove, dump, and then continue on.

I used to have an average juicer and would have to put carrots in one at a time. My Breville has no problem with 3 or 4 at a time. I probably overpaid (although I did get it on sale and with some 15% off coupon) but at the same time it is a nice looking piece of equipment that stays on the counter all the time.

Regardless of what ya chose hope ya enjoy the juicing!

I've never had a Hamilton Beach- but I haven't heard great reviews overall about them

I my Omega for big jobs- I'd say if you are investing a lot of $ into a juicer, get an Omega (1) , Champion (2) or Breville (3)
if I"m just looking for a quick glass of juice, I'll use my little Jack Lalane Juicer- it juices fast and is easy to cleanup. Don't forget to save your pulp for pate's or as an add in for other recipes
