Lubricating HP laser printer
Our printer here at work is an HP 2605dn - it's seen some use, still works well, except for it's developed a squeaking sound when you print.I've been able to get some graphite - where do I lube it and how? Are there certain telltale points to try? I'd hate to fill the machine with graphite and make a mess. |

Are you sure it actually needs lube? We have a HP 4100 I have rebuilt several times and this sounds like a problem with the paper clutch. Does it groan kind of? There are gears on the inside that have some lube on them but these should not squeak.
I have a good vendor out of MS who I buy all of my parts to repair printers from and when I have something I am unsure of I shoot him an email describing the problem and he lets me know what he would do or replace. So far he has not been wrong. I would be happy to share if your interested. Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .
