Nice find considering lowest it's ever been was $31.88 and has tons of 5/5 reviews.

Really have to consider this. Though I would much prefer the black on black steel for this price, or a sub $30 price tag for the black on silver steel.

This went FP last time and should again this time. Excellent knife, and they fixed the mistake in the listing (listed it as 440 last time). Speedsafe is awesome, and at this price it's a steal. Nice size, tight clip (but not ridiculously tight as some complain about).

agreed this is a good price. I've been through 2-3 of the Black Out model, and I'm hooked on Kershaw. Blur used to be the same price as Blackout at Academy, and then I discovered online knife shopping woohoo! thwack

super sharp blade be careful. We got them as christmas presents from our great boss one year, and within seconds one of my coworkers cut himself closing it.

Why is everyone so crazy about this knife? It seems like a decent looking knife and a good size but the 420HC steel that the blade is made out of is a poor/cheap steel. To compare a SOG Flash 2 [amazon.com] selling for $39 on am amazon use AUS8 steel which is the Japaneses equivalent of 440B. This is a mid grade/price steel. Let me know what I am missing but if I am not mistake 420HC is common in cheap little Leathermans etc. And it is just a high carbon (HC) version of 420 which is one of the cheapest steel you will find in a knife like this.

Agree, I like Kershaw but the 420 steel is low end. The
Kershaw OD-1 Knife with Sandvik 14C28N Stainless Steel Blade I paid $28 w. G10 scale was a much better buy. Also paid around the same for a Packrat, I would not buy this. Look at the reviews, 2007, they do not even make this knife in this steel any longer. Old stock. I would rather have a Spyderco tenacious even over this steel.

OP your Leek's Steel: Sandvik 13C26 stainless-steel, that is why you like it.

This is the cheapest version of this knife. $31.88 is about right for this steel. Not a slick deal.

Good info. Any recommendation for a small (2" blade) auto knife, or maybe assisted opening? For the key chain. Thanks.

I would pay more and get the 440A instead. This is not a slick deal, those reviews are for the better version not the silver.
