I am including some further info to help answer some of the questions regaridng this post:

1 - Laminate is ugly, hardwood is better, etc. Laminate floors aren't for everyone. Cheap laminate floors look, well, cheap. A nice hardwood floor does typically look nicer. This deal is not to debate which floor is for you. Instead, it is a deal for those who are looking to have someone install laminate floors for them, through Home Depot at a discount.

2 - What does the $397 Basic Installation cover? What is the fine print? Well, it covers BASIC installation. Literally to put the floors down, that's it. They typically charge $2/sf for this and virtually never discount labor. But they are now trying out a deal similar to the whole house carpet promo. The larger your job, the better this deal is for you. I'll break down the other labor fee's ina bit.

3 - They must have increased all the other fee's and materials then... As far as I can tell, they haven't. All of the fee's quoted prior to the sale are the same, and the laminate is the same price as before. That may change in the future, but hasn't for me.

4 - Other labor charges: I assume each market varies, but these were the other fee's that I saw:
- $397 for whole house basic installation
- $ 79 Delivery Fee (to the driveway)
- $ 20 2nd person fee if > 20 items
- $ $1.50 per piece Carry in Fee.
--> I believe youc ould choose to have it delivered to the store, and bring it to your home and avoid these fee's. Listing them so those that want to see each fee can see what it may cost them
- $ 50 Heavy furniture fee (per room)
- $ 50 Excess furniture fee (per room, if excessive furniture)
--> You can obviously choose to move the furniture yourself
- $ .38 per sf to rip up and haul away carpet, if you choose to have them do it.
- $112.50 per step, on box steps
- $ 1.25 per sf to have them install shoe moulding / quarter round

5 - Is this promo nationwide? A few peoplpe said their area did not offer this promo. It is likely a promo that is regional for now.
