Priority Club PointsBreak Hotels - 5,000 point nights

Awesome. But I tried to make reservations, and the hotels I chose still show 25K points needed. Maybe it takes some time to update.

Not a good selection for many folks. No breaks for any of the three cities we are visiting over the next few months.

What exactly is this? I was looking for a hotel in LA for a few days for a little trip.

You have to copy and paste the link provided by ren1hoek, but once you're there you can bookmark it for future use (the list changes often).

The 5,000-point rate will only show for certain dates through 9/30/11.

CR@P!!!!!!!!! I'm flying to Europe next Sunday and I was just about to book several 5,000 point hotels in Western Europe, but they've all changed and now I only have a few days to completely re-plan my month-long trip!!! AGGGHHHH!!!

Their main page has a 60K points promo for Priority Club Rewards Chase Visa, so that's technically good for 12 nights of stay with this PointBreak promo? I don't see any spending requirements for the card, it's probably hidden somewhere...

nope, you get the bonus for first spend....I joined priority club first on a slickdeal that gave me platinum status....then they sent me a targeted e-mail offer for the credit card with 80k points!!!

Some answers:

Yes, the list was posted by ICH yesterday afternoon (Eastern time). It took a while for the hotels to actually update the rate. However, you can book the award nights, and your confirmation will show the 5000 points it actually cost. I had the exact same experience. (There is discussion at the Flyertalk running thread on point breakers...) Anyway, all of the hotels should be updated to show the correct amount when you try to book it.

The list will change. There is no deadline. When the number of bookings fill up, they will remove those dates. I.e. if the number of point-breaker rooms run out for July 21, it will not let you book July 21 for 5000 points anymore. If there are no more dates available for point breakers, they will take the hotel off the list.

Since its fully refundable (points) up to the date of arrival, most people book now and cancel later.

If you qualify for the 60K Chase visa, you should get it. (I have one). The 80K promotion is targeted, so not everyone can get it. (most cannot) Yes, 60K means you can book 60,000/5000 = 12 nights of point breakers! If you qualify, you should get your card within 1.5 weeks (10 days). You also have to charge something on your credit card, so it may technically take ~1 month to get your points for the promotion... The hotel you want may fall off the list by then..... Note: another benefit of this credit card is that you get back 10% of your points redemption. So technically, 5000 points redemption - 500 points refunded to your account a month later!

I agree there are no good hotels in CA (I did luck out with the Oakland/Union City property), but if you are thinking about visiting Montreal or NYC, there are some good properties that works. (Look in NJ, not in NY!)

I'd hardly say the Union City hotel is lucking out. The area is not that great. The Montreal hotel is nothing special either, although it is in a good location

Got 6000 point using my Cokerewards account. And then found a Crown plaza in Edmonton, Canada for 5000 point. Repped !!!
