I don't put anything on the address line except the PO box address. I've never had a rebate submission go missing.
I already have the PO box address pre-printed on shipping labels and another set of labels pre-printed with my name/address/e-mail address so that all I have to do is stick a label on each rebate form and the address label on the envelope. Scan to pdf, seal envelope, put postage stamp, drop in mailbox. |

My first time doing a Menards rebate...if the rebate limit on an item is 2, can I buy 1 item on one receipt and a 2nd item on a different receipt if I submit them at the same time? The rebate wording confuses me. The store associate said would be fine, but they don't always know : ) Thanks!

I had a problem once, and other have reported it as well (likewise others have reported not having a problem, so YMMV) that when sending in 2 receipts fulfiling the max purchase quantity with 1 form together MAY NOT get paid correctly, but in other cases DID get paid correctly. It's just a risk. On the other hand, you should NEVER try to send for the same rebate in two separate envelopes with one receipt in each. Their 11% off rebates specifically state this is not acceptable; their regular ones do not; but as practice, just don't try it. So, in summary, their official rules are: 11%: One form max, multiple receipts acceptable -- all in 1 envelope In practice the following may work, in lowering order of potential risk for non-11% (all other rebates): - Multiple forms, multiple receipts, multiple envelopes (I'd say highly risky) - One form, multiple receipts, one envelope (I'd say slightly risky--as proven in the past by some but not all) - One form, one receipt, one envelope (no risk) Of course this has nothing to do with sending multiple forms and receipts for different items in the same envelope... it's only about a single rebate spread across multiple purchases. Heck, I even combine my 11% off rebate forms+receipts along with other rebate forms + receipts in the same envelope (if to the same PO box) without any problems. |

I tried to go to a newly-remodeled Menards today in the cities, and the lines to get in the parking lot were out in the street, out the frontage road, into neighboring stores lots, etc. They mailed out a flyer with a barcode on it to see what kind of discount you'd get.
I wonder if they're mostly all the same barcode/discount?

Long time ago (late 80's) after high school I worked for a catalog showroom (LaBelle's which then changed their name to Best Products (simply Best); no relation to BestBuy--that's another long story of confused customers). Anway, they did the mail a card out with scratch off discount; but the key was, you could not scratch it off until the cashier was DONE processing your order at the checkout. I can't tell you the number of PO'd customers who only got the token 15% off instead of the promised "up to 30%" or whatever the numbers were at that time. Counter full of product, having to be shuttled back into the warehouse after they nearly threw it at me. Funny thing was, 15% off was better than my employee discount anyway. I think they did it more than once, but only the first time was a "don't scratch until purchase is complete". At least they learned a bit; but not enough to stay out of bankruptcy 2 times only to fold on the 3rd and final. I hate these type of sales--but at least if they scan it before you start shopping, you're only wasting a trip, not the entire time there. I waste enough time at Menards wandering for stuff on 11% and 20% off sales, I wouldn't want to do it on one of these not knowing a % up front. I remember 5 years ago when a second Menards was built in town and their opening specials were REALLY good.. like 35% off all their Gorilla rack, $10 for a $50 Keller ladder (all without rebates too!), things like that. Screaming deals, 2x better than a Black Friday offer. |

I bought their yoga mats for $7.99 with a $7 rebate. One in the morning. Went home to see if it would work as a fender cover on a car. Then went back that afternoon and bought 4 more. The limit on the rebate was 5. I just got back my rebate of $7 total. I went in to the B&M store to see what was going on. I mailed both receipts in the same envelope. The lady at the counter looked it up and said on that offer you could only submit 1 receipt total. I wasn't even upset that would be the case. I was upset that they would choose the one with only one on it. I returned the other 4. Now I will be keeping track of all the rebates closely. I nearly got nailed for quite a bit extra. I wonder how many times I have in the past.

I can see rejecting a second envelope, because these things are processed separately. But they should have rectified this. |
