Chase changed to Ultimate Rewards - need recommendations for a new rewards credit card
Chase recently changed my credit card rewards program.
OLD (Cash Plus Rewards): uncapped 5% fixed on gas, groceries, and drug stores, with 1% on everything else
NEW (Ultimate Rewards): capped 5% on rotating categories that change each month and 1% on everything else
As the largest portion of my spending goes to gas and groceries, the change has made my Chase card significantly less valuable and useful to me (ex. I spend exactly $0 on Mall and Travel, so the 5% is completely worthless to me this month). I am looking for a credit card with a good rewards program to replace my Chase card as my daily user.
I use my card for everything (so I have itemized spending) and put $800-1200 per month on the card. I pay it off every month, so APR doesn't mean much in my situation. Also, I have a Citi card that gives me 5% on dining out and bookstores (all Amazon purchases qualify, which is nice), so those bases are already covered. I have excellent credit, so I'm not worried about meeting application requirements.
What are the best offers that are out there at the moment?
