You would need either an extra H2O Wireless or a postpaid AT&T SIM card, but yes you could migrate over quite easily by porting your account over. H2O since they are an MVNO of AT&T, they can utilize AT&T's own SIM cards to activate it on their own network. You can purchase AT&T as well as H2O wireless SIM cards on eBay for less than a dollar shipped (there's currently a seller or two selling both SIMs for 99 cents with free shipping). Once you receive the SIM card in the mail, it's just a matter of going to the H2O website and filling in the port-in request form and waiting 2-4 hours. You'll start off with $2 credit if you activate your SIM using the daily/minute plans, but if you activate with the monthly $40 or $50 plan then you will have to immediately purchase a monthly PIN and add it before you'll be able to use your services.

You should buy a $1.00 H20 sim card from ebay, and be sure it's one of the "direct dial" cards.

What direct dial means is simple, with H20 you get free international minutes each month and if you get one of the old cards WITHOUT direct dial you have to call an 877 number before dialing out of the country but WITH a direct dial card you just dial the overseas number and no 877 number first.

Nice deal. I just wish there was a way to get more data and less minutes/text. They have plans with the latter, but you get no data option at all.

resellers sell them. you can use the 3% off code (ca3p-1207) at callingmart to get them for $48.02

for someone with the service, does visual voicemail work natively on the iphone using H20?

wht happens to the free dollar credit when i move over to the monthly plan? will it stay on the account or will i lose it?

why does activation of the SIM ask for the phone IMEI?

@DeathCab, visual voicemail does not work on the iPhone...you can only access your voicemail by voice prompts like most other phones. There are some 'alternatives' to visual voicemail for the iPhone that utilize Google Voice as your voicemail service though, but it does require 3G data in order to use it.

@slipdeal, if you sign up for the daily/minute plan and get the $2 free credit, any credits you have on your account are forfeited when you swap over to the monthly plans. You can swap plans either by chatting with customer support on the website or calling their 800 number, but whenever you switch plans on H2O you lose any credit that is attached to your account.

Thanks for the pointer. I ordered a sim card via ebay last friday and got it today (yet to activate). When I checked the seller if this sim card are direct dial card, he is not sure. Before activating, is there any way to find if the sim card is direct dial or not ?!

Even if it is not direct dial, shall I go ahead and activate and change it to direct dial later ?
