If you are a Sprint Wireless Customer, you can get 50% off you last 3 bills credited to your account due to all the outage/service degradations they have had in the last 3-4 months

I called to make a complaint and they credited me $221 (50% of my last 3 statement) to compensate me for my frustrations. It didn't take much she already seemed to know what she was supposed to do.

I live in SW Michigan, my number is based out of Grand Rapids though. But from what I understood, it was available to all Sprint Customers

Please update the Wiki if you have success with the city you live in.

TIPS

Pick your battle. You will not get the credit and the Airave. You can get your credit now and try again later for the Airave. (although some people did manage to get both 50% off 3 months AND free airave with a lot of persistence)

Get yourself to the retention department (if you aren't already there) by telling them you are thinking of switching providers or you want to cancel.

Tell them your friend (hey if I save you $200 and/or get you free stuff, you would call me a friend, no? Smilie ) got 50% off his last 3 bills and you want the same courtesy extended to you.

Sprint CSR is so bad now!!!!! I just called their retention #, some gal name Tracy answered, then I told her about the poor signal I have. She then offered me the airwave for $129 with 14 days trial period... I told her people are getting the airwave for free and she responded that Sprint is no longer giving it out for free.

Then I told her I'm going to Tmobile or ATT after my contract expired, she said "have a good day" then hang up on me... WTF!!!??? Is Sprint owned by Nazis now or what ????

============================

Some people are also having better luck with filing a BBB Complaint after refusal of compensation. Do this ONLY if you have documented calls and complaints, Sprint keeps them all on file.

If you have issues with your Airave, it could be your internet connection itself. Run a VOIP test on it.

I just told them I was upset that I was having so many issues with my phones over the last month and that I was considering moving to verizon's network (I wasn't really though) because it seemed like Sprint didn't care enough to let us know what was going on and that I had to waste time at work and drive down to the sprint store on my lunches only to find out that there were outages.

First Rep knew nothing of all the MI troubles so she transfered me to customer retention. I then said we were in a sprint store and heard other customers talking about 50% credit for the last 3 months. The rep said yes they were doing that and we were credited $209 and change.

Thanks OP. Will try later. Hopefully this means the reason I wasn't able to stream radio music on the drive to work was because of a temporary problem!

Il have to try this, Im still pissed off at sprint for selling me an Evo 4G under false pretenses. When I purchased the phone the clerk at the sprint store assured me that 1) I qualified for a rebate as a premiere customer, which was denied because they changed the premiere plan and 2) I was told that 4g was definitely going to be rolled out in the Detroit metro area within 3 months. Its been 6 now and nothing. Im not real happy with sprint right now.

so I tried again

said cancel, talked to retentions, they upped the ante to $70, plus the free airave (they say that's $130)

I said no go, they created a case and will let me know in 72 hours whether they can do what I want.

The thing that pisses me off is that I had no idea about this airave device which apparently would have solved the reception problems that I've had at my home for years.

The AirRave plugs into your router and basically creates a "mini" antenna that uses your broadband internet.

They give these out for free if you call and complain about reception in your home or office.

Some of the reviews on them are pretty good. They also do not use any of your minutes when connected to one.

However, if you are surrounded by people on the sprint network and your broadband isn't very fast, your internet could become bogged down dramatically by the phones connecting. I just got mine the other day and haven't had a chance to set it up. My understanding is that you can lock down the phones that are allowed to use it, though I haven't looked into it yet.

If everyone else is getting 50% back, you should be able to as well. Do not let them say that getting the air rave takes care of the issue. Anyone who calls and complains about service within a building can get one for free.
