Well what I neglected to tell you was that the Emachines wasn't that great to begin with and with it being a little over 5 years old I was thinking its days were numbered anyways. I thought about just keeping it and doing a few upgrades on it but in the end the price to upgrade it just didn't make sense vs the price/performance I hope to get out of the Dell. Here's a brief comparision of the two. (Please don't laugh at the Emacines specs) RAM - 1.5GB vs 6GB The Emachines came with 512MB and I upgraded to 1.5GB soon after I bought it, plus it's shared with the video card and you can only expand it to 2GB. Processor - Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 524 vs AMD Athlon II X4 645. Hard Drive - 160GB vs 1TB Windows XP vs Windows 7 Price - Think I paid about $20 more for the Dell than I for the Emachines, which at the time was a good deal. Crazy what is now considered a "Everyday Use" computer compared to just a few years ago. Thanks to everyone for the replies. |

That looks fine. The processor is about 105-110 brand new but the ram is just abuse for that system. I don't understand why it is using more than 4GB while also using 64 bit machine when it doesn't need it with those parts.
If you have your computer on all the time, please consider downloading the F@h to find the cure for many diseases.
