when you say "clicking" does that mean when they turn on, or when they read? i've heard some of my drives do a click, only when they power on/off.

i've checked for bad sectors and they seem fine.

I have been running 2 of these drives in a D-Link DNS-320 for about a month now. Zero problems, so far. Reads and writes are fairly fast compared to other NAS devices I have used in the past.

TU, for a price 10 bucks less than last week. Will be picking up a spare drive in case of drive failure.

PS The DNS-320 was only $70 from TD. Very nice unit for the money

PPS: Most of the bad reviews on Newegg are from 2009/10, so it looks like initial release of the drive had problems with firmware/hardware that are now resolved.
Only time will tell..

Great Drive. Have a couple of them and have no problems. Just actually picked up another Sunday at Microcenter for $69. Wonder if they will price adjust when I go back in later this week to pick up more items.

Good deal on these, drives are solid.

wish this was for something other than a seagate. I've ordered two of these drives and had to RMA them both.

Debating if I should jump on this or wait until BF and see if I can get a better deal. Thanks anyway OP, TU.

returned one to newegg and the other to amazon.

I've had bad shipping with newegg in the past so I chalked the first one up to that. Then the next one was from amazon and was packed really well and it died in 2 days so I don't think I can trust seagate for a while.

They really seem to have gone downhill since the 1TB firmware issues of the 1tb seagate firmware 7200.11 series.

I'm sticking to WD blacks and samsungs for my green series drives.

The Hitachi is a better drive hands down. Even the Samsung (be sure to reflash JP1 firmware) beats the Seagate by a long shot.
