Looking for a Stand alone media player to watch Downloaded movies on my TV. PS3 does not work anymore (cinavia)
I used to watch movies on my PS3 but with the new updates and added Cinavia its not possible anymore. I am looking for something I can hook up to my Receiver via HDMI that has storage and what not so i can load my movies to it and watch it on my TV. Can't think of what these are called? Media players, etc??? Any recommendations? Thanks |

Not exactly what you're asking for but what about PlayOn? Or heck even the free PS3 Media Server program. Allows you to copy d/l movies to your PS3 and watch them. Or why can't you just get an external HD with the movies and plug it in to your PS3 and watch them?

Thats exactly what I had been doing with my PS3, but now the PS3 recognizes if the movie is downloaded and stops playing after about 2 mins...

I think what you may be after then is a Roku player, or an Apple TV or something. |

http://www.playon.tv/playon WHOA, this crap used to be $40 and you could find it on sale for $20 a lot and now it's $40/yr or $80 total! I say screw that! |

I'm pretty sure there is software that will remove Cinavia's protection, if that's something that interests you.

+1 on the WDTV Live.

Awesome! Thanks for the links. Does the WD TV and Patriot Box pretty much do the same thing? Do they have built-in storage or do you simply plug in an External HD to it. The patriot box has good reviews. I'm new to this Cinavia crap. I noticed some torrents still play with no issues while others are blocked. |
