Still in box. Any link to a tutorial? Is the old software still the standard?

I am so glad that people are still looking into this device. I still use mine ever so often.
We have four that get used daily and one thats in storage for when the kids break one. been in use since the firesale, so no complaints from me. still doing everything we need (netflix, web browsing, solitaire and tons of little kids games. my three kids have been using and abusing these things for years and they still work great. and still no other tablet out there with wireless charging...perfect for young kiddies.
I'm practically wishing they would die so I could justify getting in on some of these other slick tablet deals!
BTW, still running CM9 on ours. I have Jellybean and Kitkat on my other tablets and cell phones, but perfectly happy wit CM9 on the touchpads since everything works great.

Still updating to KitKat nightlies for me and my friend's TouchPad. He still uses it for school and stuff. He's enjoyed watching it get better and faster over the years.

This will never die! Big Grin

Hey, I still use mine all the time. I am kind of surprised that nobody ended up doing anything with WebOS though, given the number of people that ended up with these things.

My touchpad display got cracked. DW dropped it :-(. Looks like everything is fine (was able to access all the files through PC), except that display only shows back light (it is broken into million pieces). One of my friend's Tocuhpad went dead because of not charging. He took it apart and has a supposedly working display. I am planning to use it and looking for a good site/video that has easy instructions on how to replace the display. Really appreciate any pointer you could provide.

TIA
I bought a new one from. http://www.a4c.com/product/hp-tou...-bulk.html
for $114.95 this afternoon. Said it comes in bulk packaging, dont really know what it means. My Dad loves his touchpad so I thought I would get one for my mom too.

Mine has basically been relegated to "giant pretty alarm clock" status, but it still works great to this day. I use it every other day. I still love the speakers on it. My favorite from most tablets I've had.

This is like the HTC HD2. Amazing hardware + developer support ensures that a device will keep going and going and going.

A lot of tablets have come and go from my itinerary over the years, but the TouchPad manages to still stick around and still, I could sell it for a little less than what I originally paid ($150 for 32GB unit. Still goes for a little over $100 in ebay).

Compared to some of the craptabs HP has been launching recently (their entire line-up right now all only have 1GB of RAM, vs 2GB becoming a standard with Nexus, Dell, Samsung... etc)

This was the last great device made by the Palm team that was engulfed by HP at the time and it still shows to this day. They put a lot of effort into this and HP couldn't see the long term picture, and wanted quicker turnaround profits. Shame.

What actually really bugs me to this freaking day, is that no one has implemented something like Touch-to-Share into the bezel. I would have thought Apple or Samsung would have copied it by now. Maybe it's heavily patented... It was a brilliant use of the bezel, instead of just being a black outline that was useless.

Closest thing is NFC, but every one that has implemented it also implements it on the back of the device. Tapping my Nexus 7 to my Nexus 4 is ridiculous honestly to share things with one another, it works, but kind of cumbersome to hold them back to back. Implementing it to the bezel, on a tablet, while the phone having it on the back, makes soooo much more sense.

It was in stock Sunday so I bought one (new 32gb in bulk packaging). Unless they only had one I was not alone apparently, because they as os. They also had 16gb refurbs but those are out of stock now too. Received my tracking info. I am interested to see what "bulk packaging" means.
