Update--Got $20 via Amazon Chat.

If you bought through OnSale/Amazon and you have experienced poor customer service Amazon has offered a $5 -$10 gift certificate. You must call Amazon CSR directly. Slickdealer’s have been concerned about why OnSale listed inventory on Amazon’s site that they did not have in stock.

I received a $10 credit via Amazon Chat. Initial CSR was unhelpful, so I asked to be escalated to the supervisor. Supervisor issued the credit almost immediately. Good luck!

Kind of feel bad for amazon. This is all onsale's fault. Even the supervisor I talked to said that onsale is definitely going to be off amazon soon. He told me I can give them negative feedback after 3 days; we can't right now because it usually takes a couple of days to review your purchases. He was laughing and agreeing with me when I told him that onsale is going down and a lot of us will be contacting BBB about their awful business practices.

8/23 11:30AM EST: Just spent an hour on hold with onSale. According to the customer rep I spoke to, they exhausted their stock on Saturday. Apparently if a person called in on Saturday they would have price matched HP's new retail price. By the time the price change made it live, they were already OOS. My order was at 5:30PM EST on Sunday. He said if my order is going to be fulfilled, it will have to be from the second batch they are getting tomorrow. He said I would have to call back tomorrow to find out the status of my order. He said the company won't be sending emails.

OOS from AMAZON at least since 9:15 pm EDT . May come back but this time it seems less likely. In the past it kept going OOS and in stock within few seconds.

To anyone who purchased this and is reviewing it or otherwise, UPDATE webOS! it makes a HUGE different, it was a big update and not all touchpads are shipped with it!

HP SMALL BUSINESS was selling models labelled as SMARTBUY. It's an HP terminology notating different packaging, nothing more.

The 16gb version thru amazon keeps going in and out of stock, keep checking.

After purchase, if you CANNOT CONNECT your TouchPad to the internet, WebOS Butler service (1- 866 945 7256) advises to HARD reset the Touchpad.
To do that - HOLDING POWER, Volume Down button and The button in the middle of the bottom of the TP. Holding all 3 together for 10-15 seconds will HARD reset the TP and that should take care of the problem.

"Smart Buy" part numbers are same as non "Smart Buy" part numbers, its exactly the same product. HP has different part numbers setup for the same item to better track sales, specials, and discounting.
