Info on the sears website says to check the product manual for compatibility with your vehicle, but the link just takes me to the sears homepage. Any idea where to find the manual?

EDIT: answered my own question - link was bad - http://download.sears.com/misc/20...nChart.pdf

Maske sure your vehicle can carry something like this. These things have been known to rip the roof racks right out of roofs with all the wind resistance.

I was looking to spend $50 on a used one, so this is a good deal for me. Purchased one for in-store pick up. It was available in-store at all 5 locations near me.

Thanks, OP

Repped.

Seems like a good deal. I TU'd and REP'd, but just thought I'd mention: I've been perusing CL and fairly commonly see deals for barely used Thule/Yakima cargo boxes ~$100. Sounds like the Thule/Yak boxes might be a bit more durable. If they already have the mounting hardware you need, the price gap gets even smaller. Just another option to think about.

Do either of you (or anyone else for that matter) know what you need to buy to mount this thing to your roof rack? Or, are they meaning that you *need* a roof rack to mount it to your vehicle, but it comes with whatever hardware is necessary to mount to a roof rack?

Thanks!

Thanks for the link.

My only problem w/this carrier is that I have factory roof rails on my car and the .pdf manual states that I have to use X-Cargo "U-Bolt Kit 7216" (~$25-30) to install it; it seems to be a universal mounting kit, as just about every vehicle w/factory crossbars listed in the .pdf requires it. So I google that and it seems that it's somewhat difficult to find; it's hit & miss at your local Sears. If you're like me and need this to mount this box, the Sears part number is 028-07216, the Sears model number is 92511. It's probably a good idea to call your local Sears locations to inquire about their availability of this kit before ordering; many of the poor reviews for this carrier discuss the inability to easily locate the adapter kit.

Hope this helps.
