Everyone has trouble with the Muffle System Logging and it's nothing to worry about.
I hadn't updated any preware in months and I only found 2 just now when I checked, "touchvol" and "find in page".
Clearly, preware/webOS progress has slowed down, if not completely stopped.
It sure is a shame as webOS is such a wonderful system and if I could get all the apps that are found on Android systems, then I would consider webOS to be the best tablet system on Earth.

Heh, I'm not worried about the Muffle Logging thing, it's just annoying. Like when I had 10 updates including it, it would fail and stall the whole installation progress of others, and having it not updated is just an eyesore.

I know what you mean about webOS. I really like it except for the fact that the browser sucks. I don't really use the Android since the update of the new webOS. I just hope they continue developing it. For now though I would just like to get my Gmail working.

I don't have the link right now, but there's an article that was posted in the Android thread, suggesting that there's a project that would allow Android apps to run on webOS.
That would be the ultimate tablet system, in my opinion.
I don't know if it will actually materialize, but we can only hope.
That would take care of the browser issue, and after that, there is no down side to webOS.

PS: Here is the link.

I am looking for a good power charger for the TP. The original one stopped working after several months...so I bought a generic off Amazon....and this one has only lasted 2 months. The problem is definitely the charging cord....because if you position it just so...it will work for a short time. Anyone have any recommendations?? I know HP has the charger for $4.99 with free shipping so I could always stock up on those, but I was looking for something more long term. Thanks!

This is what I have ordered, based on the excellent user ratings.
Charger cable [amazon.com]
It's clear that the HP cables do not last very long and I have no direct experience with these new ones that I have ordered, but with 593 user reviews giving the cables a 4 1/2 star rating out of 5 on Amazon, it leads me to believe that they must be as good as it gets, specially for the excellent price of 2 bux and change (I ordered 3) and free shipping.

You can probably get HP to send you a replacement USB cable under your TP's warranty (assuming you bought a new unit and not a refurb). That's what I did after mine had stopped working, too, after a few months.

I found this HP Palm Support knowledge base article [hpwebos.com]. After reading the article and following the troubleshooting steps, I still had not resolved the problem, so I contacted HP Support using the "Chat now" link at the top of the page. I explained the problem, and since the TP is still under warranty, the CSR offered to send me a new cable.

Of course, this is still the same type of cable that came with my TP, so I fully expect that it won't last any longer than the original did. It might be worth a coupla bux to order the USB cable that Rocky suggests to avoid the hassle of another failed USB cable.

My touchpad has been particularly laggy and I want reinstall the OS but I am having problems with webosdoctor. I boot into usb update mode and no matter what I do, I cannot get the 'next' button to allow me to begin the reinstall/recovery process. Things that happen up to that point include: Proper installation of palm novacom (bootie) driver, in webosdoctor, it does the windows install thing and begins webosdoctor, I confirm english, accept conditions and then it says to plug device in and no matter what I try, the 'next' button is not available. PLEASE HELP, my TP runs like sh!t ever since it did the OTA update to 3.05 and I had some patches that were installed, and instead of getting the yellow triangle (like my ex's tp, which webosdoctor fixed) it just continued to run in a kinda laggy state.

things I have tried:
deleting everything and redownloading webosdoctor
checking device manager for a yellow problem icon and clearing it out and the waiting for webosdoctor to prompt me to plug in the device (i never have the yellow icon)

Any advice or direction is appreciated. Also, I am fine with wiping out the whole damn thing if that is what it is going to take, it is frustratingly slow, even while being overclocked to 1.7 ghz

It's been awhile since I've done a doctor job so I have no inspirations right now, except to mention that the USB cable could be at fault. Perhaps you could try it with the cable to your wife's TP.

Thanks for the reply, I decided to do the 'full erase' and the tablet seems much snappier now. I think I may try webos doctor again and see if I can run it now so I know if the problem was the touchpad as opposed to the software on my laptop.

My TP was slow when I overclocked after one of the updates via Preware. Benchmarking showed thhat it was waaaay slow. I dropped it down to 1.5 from 1.7 and it went back to normal.

I finally installed Android 2 days ago and the TP got even faster. Smilie

I saw that and considered it, but 6 feet is just too long. I already have a spaghetti complex of wires around here without adding more unnecessarily. For some folks, the longer wire might be just what the doctor ordered, but not for me.

Are we able to watch Amazon Instant Videos from the Touchpad? I've gotten it to work intermittently, but can't figure out why it won't work now. I've looked it up but can't seem to figure out what the problem is. Thanks in advance to anyone who had any input on this subject.
