What is the time frame that politicians are allowed to change their mind in without being labeled a hypocrit? 10 years, 20 years, 50 years?
I am not sticking up for Perry as I could care less about him. It just seems that people are extremely critical on some politicians while giving others a total pass. |

I think you have to look at the record and decide what you think about the person. Either you believe the coming to God change or you don't. I know Perry better than, well, people that don't live in Texas I guess. There's a reason why Perry doesn't poll well in Texas, even among Republicans. A PPP poll on the Republican field was conducted on May 24th in Texas. The results speak for themselves (highest to lowest): Sarah Palin Newt Gingrich Mike Huckabee Mitt Romney Michele Bachmann Donald Trump Tim Pawlenty, Rick Perry (tied) Obviously people have come and gone since and his support will have grown as people have dropped out, but it's pretty darned clear Texans weren't clamoring for their own governor to run. Dude tied Tim Pawlenty. In his home state. Tim Pawlenty. Ouch. When the people of his state very clearly don't want him as the candidate (and it's not even like it's a Dem state hatin-on-the-guy-to-keep-him-out thing), I think it's prudent to keep that in mind. just my opinion. |

and he used to be Gore's campaign chairman in 1988 too...and guess what, Reagan was a democrat at one time as well...then they both realized their error and that their beliefs were not in tune with those of the democrats, and switched
sorry perry haters, after more than 20 years, his past is overwritten with a new record...if he had just switched a year or two ago, then you have a point...20 years, not so much. The statute of limitations has long lapsed on that. Let's ask the Texas Tea Party:
http://trailblazersblog.dallasnew...-mexi.html Just to speak more directly to you point Radeck. It's not like the Dems went hard left and left Perry behind like they arguably did with Reagan. You look at these policies Perry supported and find that he would be fully in the mainstream Democratic mind right now. What changed? Texas politics. How convenient that he changed right at that moment. Last edited by loop610bob; 09-01-2011 at 11:48 AM.. |

So how long does it take El Tejas Flipperino to flip on an issue when he realizes it doesn't play as well politically as he wants? Seven days.
At some point, even the Radecks of the world are going to realize this guy is a charlatan. Let's hope sooner than later. Last edited by loop610bob; 09-01-2011 at 12:51 PM.. |

Has Perry been asked about this position lately? What was his response?
